I'm taking my A levels next year and i'm wondering, do your AS grades play a part in your university application? because it seems that you guys are all posting your AS results followed by "I got into university x"
I got my results last month because I did a BTEC, I also just got a letter today confirming my college place for next year, onto the Computing HND I go! Congratulations to everybody else that got their results today, I hope you got what you want(and more)!
My government pays for all our tuition fees, the only costs we pay are for the living costs.
Since when does gibraltar have its own flag? Anyway I take it you mean the spanish government
Gibraltar is self-governing and a British territory

I sleeped in and missed the collection deadline, have to wait for my results to come through the post D:
So what's the point of AS?
Its half of your A2

I got my AS results: B - English Language and Literature B - Biology C - Physics (How in fucks name I managed that I'll never know, so much better than expected) D - Chemistry (Fuck.) I'm a little disheartened but hopefully a few resits and a decent amount of work next year and they'll all go up. Fucking hate exams.
I was wondering how accurate everyone's predictions were. I was over predicted in maths but under predicted by quite some margin in physics/chemistry, Earth & life sciences and English. Though I sat a Baccalaureate so it's a bit different, but nonetheless my teachers got everything wrong. Also, anyone off to Surrey? And many accommodation results are in: This morning they assigned me a £111,5/week room which I had never asked for, but changed it to a £90/week just as I was calculating how much they had royally fucked my budget.

Free iPad 2's make everything better though!
Also, is it true that from now on the universities will be looking for people who took resits and thinking twice about them.
I got into Plymouth! got BCC, needed CCC (uncompetitive course). Geography - B (surpisingly, managed to get an A in the exam even though I fucked it up majorly) Chemistry - C Biology - C
Since when does gibraltar have its own flag? Anyway I take it you mean the spanish government
I take it you're as ignorant as most of the other Spaniards around here. Our own government pays for our tuition fees.
I take it you're as ignorant as most of the other Spaniards around here. Our own government pays for our tuition fees.
No need to be a dick, I didnt know that gibraltar had its own government seperate from UK/Spain.
Where did you read/hear that from?
High position teachers at my school, deputy heads etc. Although they scaremonger a lot (GCSEs are the most important thing of your life without it you can't get a job and you will die)
No need to be a dick, I didnt know that gibraltar had its own government seperate from UK/Spain.
Hence why I stated your ignorance, I apologize if it was too harsh. Mostly this attitude is given to us on a day to day basis by many Spaniards.
Fuck! So i needed ONLY 3 C'S overall to take my Foundation course in Art & Design, with the hope of then studying Illustration at uni... Got a B in Art, not bad seeing as i got 97/100 on one of the modules! But also a D in Graphic Design and a bitch of an E in History (FUCK MARGARET THATCHER) The College scheduled an interview with me on monday to discuss my grades.. fuuuuuck! Tense as fuck. I feel so bad for my girlfriend, she worked 100x harder than me to study Vetinary, it's all she wanted to do and she thought she had it in the bag because one of her teachers told her that she got a B in Physics. She needed ABB, we went in, got the results and she got ABC (C in Physics)... Now she can't do it although it was her life aspiration :c
Also, is it true that from now on the universities will be looking for people who took resits and thinking twice about them.
I know at least one guy in my year had something stating they would prefer no repeated modules in his conditions, though I think he's got in anyway. An English course in UCL IIRC. Also, A in ICT, B in Mathematics, C in Physics, doing Computer Science in Queens.
Also, is it true that from now on the universities will be looking for people who took resits and thinking twice about them.
Yup that's apparently true as there are so many applicants that they need to filter it as much as they can, least that's what one of my teachers said.
Got my AS results. A in English (wasn't expecting this, thought I might have fucked it a bit and would have to resit) B in Media Studies (planning on resitting this, because I only got 63 on the exam, but got 92 in my coursework. I can definitely do better) C in History (wasn't expecting this, thought I'd done better) C in Government & Politics (thought I'd done better) Dropping History next year, and probably resitting Government & Politics. I was only a couple of marks off of a B, from looking at a friend's UMS mark. Also got an A in General Studies, but I've been told most universities don't care about it.
Also got an A in General Studies, but I've been told most universities don't care about it.
Just to reiterate this, anybody going into Sixth form this year, General Studies is a massive waste of your time and lesson slots. Even when I applied last year literally NOWHERE accepted it or counts it in a points offer and I quite honestly just wish I'd had the free periods to study for my other subjects instead.
My sixth form is for reasons unknown to everyone - including the teachers who teach it - fucking adadamant that we do it.
What is general studies?
