Although I'm not an expert, I'd guess that the very worst that could happen is that you'll need to spend another year picking up what you're missing. It's annoying, but it isn't a tragedy.
Probably in 5 years time you'll be trying to remember what you were so stressed about.
Yeah but this year is a fucking dick because if you end up going next year you'll be paying a lot more back. I'm already looking at £30k to pay back if I have to fuck about for a year it'll be like £50k. Just hoping I get my BBC now because I was silly and didn't put enough thought into my back up options which I now don't want to go to (nor can afford it as it's in the middle of london)
Hopefully the academic record of my sixth form might carry me a bit, I was like in the lower end of hills road due to pissing about for the first year.
Sooo, how did you guys do in English language?
those damn unicorns threw me off
I hate exams, all they are, are a memory test so people who maybe be very good at the subject fail horribly because they have shitty memory.

As one of my lecturers said:
"Most of your full time education is spent learning how to pass the next set of exams."
Oh man it's still 2 days away but i'm shitting it.

My uncle has been a controller of an airline, ran his own server company and now reviews parlimentary expenses in Toronto. He basically told me that education should be done young but for the most part in fields like project Managment it's more than just academic acheivement, people who were on paper better qualified to manage the project usually were shitty leaders.
Worst part is knowing that the decision has already been made and loads of strangers already know your results. A friend of my mother's works at Nottingham uni and last year was the head of admissions. Made me feel more confident about being ok if I just slip one grade but with the rise in fees I doubt they have much of a 'mabye' pile this year. Unfortunately she doesn't have any contacts at Leeds who can leak my results for me :(
I am going to do so badly in my Advanced maths it's not even a joke. Though I'm hoping for A's in my GCSE's.
Not too worried considering. I need B's in English Lit, History and Geography to do the courses I want in sixth form (assuming I get 5 C+'s to get in in the first place). My only real concerns are Maths and science. I got entered into the Maths foundation (becuase how 2 math, which is surprising considering my teachers expect me to get 5 A-A* grades) and am probably failing science. It's not a biggie, but I would really like to open up my results and not see a D.
I got Distinction Star in my BTEC ICT Course :D
To be honest you could pass a BTEC by smearing your faeces over a piece of paper and handing that in.
I got a C,D and U in Physics, Maths and Chemistry for my A-levels, with C,D in Chemistry and Biology for my AS results. Failed my attempt to get into Surrey for a Physics course, got offered a foundation course at QMUL. Whereas I'd fucked up my a-levels due to laziness, I fucked up my foundation course due to a mixture of partying and being lazy.
However, I applied for an Applied Physics at my local uni, Portsmouth, got in and managed to pull my finger out and do some actual work, so I'm happily starting my second year in September.
If you don't get your grades, there are always options, and there's always a way forward. I know the increase in fees may be a dealbreaker for some, but not getting the course you wanted or not going to uni this year isn't the end of the world - you can still do well!

That's why a pass is worth nothing. Distinctions are the only thing anybody cares about, because you actually have to work to get one.
It may be easy to get a BTEC qualification, but to get a BTEC at a high enough standard to get you into a university is no easier than 3 A-grade A levels

Agreed. I got a triple distinction as my final grade on my Media course but took alot of work to get it.
Going to put this on before results come in. Loudly as possible and just absorb whatever comes my way.

I'm feeling really Apathetic. I don't want to be sounding "Cool and edgy" but I'm really not fazed by what happens. If I fail I'll just get a job, my Dad's offered to take me on in his trade business and at least, if that happens, I can live with my parents until I'm on my own feet. I won't be straddled with obscene amounts of debt as well.

Lucky you, at least you have other prospects due to your dads business. Wish i was in your position.
I go in to get my GCSE results on the 25th at 10am, I enroll at the college 3 hours later on the other side of town. Bloody hell that's some bad timing, gonna be a day of rushing around. :v:
I get my results on the 25th too, 10:30am, but I don't know when my enrolment is yet.
I am totally bricking it though, I don't think I did too well, apart from maybe in Maths and Science.
Gotta get 2 Bs to get into Teesside Uni.
I wouldn't be so worried if I didn't fuck up graphics this year.

Christ, I may well see you at Teesside my good man!
I got twenty seven A*s.
I made up my A levels with an entry course, after a gap year or so.
Ace'd it with like a 90%+ average on most of modules (Pass was 55%), most of it was relatively more complex than my A levels.
I was surprised how much UCAS & the various exam boards completely disregarded the fact I was in great pain and a few months off having an operation.
That was pretty much what screwed over my A levels.
But I should start for real this year, Mechanical Engineering at Coventry. Not the most prestigious place, but I get my parents house and free food, double bonus is my folks are retired and spend half the year on holiday.

Meanwhile in reality, a girl at my school is actually doing nine A levels.

ooooh rearenders.
What you doing up there then?

I find it fantastic that mechanical engineers or people who are looking to be so seem to play G-mod. I actually mentioned it in my interview for Manchester year before and he was fascinated by the idea of it. I also yarned on about the pro's and cons of AGR reactors and ekranoplans mind.

It's a great way to see how mathmatics, physics and just general fucking around interact in an enviroment were you can shoot people too.
Besides how often do I get to design, build then make a tank/car/mech/plane work in real life.
Though that said, my last year project was designing a wing.

Likewise, I love trying to replicate real life mechanical components in G-mod (or even in real life if i have access to a lathe and tools) I was really happy that at one point i managed to replicate the entire steering assembly and suspension of a lotus 25 then (with some help from my aunts friend) machine a new wishbone for an actual lotus 25.
I have all this knowledge, pity i'm rubbish at exams...
Can't say I'm looking forward to Thursday. Getting my A2/full results in maths, chemistry and biology.
I feel bio went well, but aside from that I'm feeling pretty bad about maths but I think (or hope maybe :v:) I've got at least the D needed for my second choice uni, and chem, well let's just say I'll definitely be happy to find out if I've got an E.
So here's to me hoping I get my second choice (Sunderland University) atleast, or if not that they'll accept me anyway. If not then it's another year of college, which to be honest I'd be fine with if it weren't for the massive rise in tuition fees next year.
Scottish here, got our results a bit over a week ago. So Highers (Or could have been Advanced Highers if I'd done any...)
Last year I got an A in English, B in History and B in Computing (Fucked up the exam itself, full marks coursework... Oops) plus a couple of Intermediate 2's which are so worthless it's incredible, unless I'd been going to college I suppose.
This year, two fails and a D. Not even worth mentioning what in. I just suck that badly at maths related things. Fortunately still got in to do an MSci in Computer Science at Edinburgh Napier (Heh.) despite them asking for one additional C. Apparently D + F + F = C.
I'm a lucky fucker.
