We got our results weeks ago.
lucky you. you also filled up all the Scottish uni's clearing slots.
We also got them sent out a day early by mistake. Was a relief, didn't have time to worry.
i wish i had results early, then i could be drunk already.
Year 11 here, just thought I'd throw it out. Next Thursday I get my results, pretty sure we're talking about the same Thursday. Anyway, I'm probably going to get one or two C's, more if I'm super fucking lucky. Other than that, D's and maybe an E in Digital Photography (I won't be surprised if it's lower) because it's a hard subject to get off my ass to do. I try my best and I will still probably get shit overall. I swear if I don't get 1 C I will personally go murder the Examiners. I will do it in my head, of course. I will not be satisfied. [editline]17th August 2011[/editline]
I go in to get my GCSE results on the 25th at 10am, I enroll at the college 3 hours later on the other side of town. Bloody hell that's some bad timing, gonna be a day of rushing around. :v:
Do you live in Lancashire by any chance :v: I don't know what the times are like for any other regions in the country

A levels are tomorrow.
We're not. We are getting ours tomorrow. You should honestly do fine though, the GCSEs are really easy compared to all that follows.
The exmas you are doing ALWAYS feel like the end of the world, then you move on a stage and wonder what all the fuss was about. Trust me, you haven't seen anything to worry about yet, but you'll figure that out roughly around the time you reach your second set of uni exams :v
Glad I took a BTEC National Diploma, exams suck. Got DDD anyway. (That's equivelant to 3 A grade A levels). Also got my uni course placement confirmation letter today.
The BTEC is a really nice way to do a course don't you think? I much preferred it to the exams and shit you would get in the A level qualifications. Though writing report after report does get pretty soul crushing after a while. And doing it on a IT for Practitioners course, where the course director expects a lot of detail can take quite some time. I've had my results for a month or two now, I got a DDD too, the Software Engineering course I applied for only required a DDM (I would have gotten on Comp Sci if my damn GCSE Maths was above C). My accommodation was confirmed yesterday, now all I need is my finance sorted completely, I got a letter from them about it, just waiting on the course to start now. Good luck to everyone still waiting for your results though. My results day was fairly uneventful, then again I didn't really worry too much.
Are 3 Cs out of 3 subjects in the first year of A levels the end of the world?
Are 3 Cs out of 3 subjects in the first year of A levels the end of the world?
Nope! That's not terribly reassuring, but you've got a good chance to pull that back up in second year if you work hard. If you don't, you can always resit a bunch of exams and effectively do a 3rd "gap" year, or there are other opportunities in life other than uni. Apprenticeships etc. That's not to say you shouldn't take it seriously.
Only easy if you actually understood some of the shit you had to do in school. Which fair enough was alot of the time but then I started getting worse at doing things. I was roughly in set 3 for all of my subjects. Out of 4.
Nope!
Then I am hopeful about tomorrow, that's what I'm expecting to get at the minimum. I'm hoping for B in psychology, B in R.S and C in History. I don't really remember doing the exams though so it could go either way.
Just found out that our Sixth Form is planning to open at 10 for results. That's 2 hours after most Universities have started their Clearing systems. I've been eyeing up a place at Liverpool in clearing and if I miss them all within those 2 hours THEY will be paying the fee difference next year >:( Also, anger makes a great distraction from my fear of tomorrow :D

Either everyone did REALLY badly or they're overcompensating for the error that was in it.

I've totally screwed Maths up, but I should be okay for the other 3. I'm just gonna drop Maths for A2 and resit the AS anyway, so it's not a huge deal.
i got 2 unconditional offers 4 months ago. devoed
8 days until dooms day
heads up to people looking to find out their results. You can log into UCAS from 8am to see if you got your placement from that information you can roughly see what grades you got
http://store.aqa.org.uk/over/stat_pdf/AQA-A-LEVEL-GDE-BOUND-JUNE11.PDF
Wow those grade boundaries aren't too bad. Only need ~70% for an A in one of them.
If I fail my physics GCSE I blame the crazy substitute teacher who once said infront of people in my class "Why do I bother, you're all going to hell any way" and started laughing, I had someone like that teaching us physics just before I had my exams.
Those grade boundaries are oddly reassuring. Notice how well my sleeping went :v:
50% for a C is hard for me. Fuck, glad I didn't take REAL subjects.

bitch general studies is the only shit that matters gonna ace that shit, physics? who needs it lol
bitch general studies is the only shit that matters gonna ace that shit, physics? who needs it lol
Who needs Philosophy and Ethics? I still took it. [editline]18th August 2011[/editline]
What is clearing?
You essentially phone universities and beg for a place.
I took Physics with Edexcel, Maths with OCR, Further Maths with MEI/OCR and did a shitty OCR Nationals Level 3 course. Hoping to get on a Computer Science course at York, their offer depends on me getting AAB. I'm hoping the additional (albeit shitty) course will help my chances if I miss out slightly.. Insurance choice is Nottingham but it didn't feel right to me, like I didn't belong there. We'll see what tomorrow brings I guess. Good luck to everybody, hope you all get what you want.
