Among other things, I opened a box from my sister. Inside, there was some kind of fabric, and sitting right on top of it, a printed picture of Benedict Cumberbatch in his Sherlock costume. Nothing written on it, just...this picture. I had absolutely no clue what to make of this, until it clicked: My sister went on a whole exhaustive search to find the exact same scarf that he wears on the show. That's what I get for having a fangirl for a sister. I don't even wear scarves!

My girlfriend thinks it's fucking badass, though, so I probably will now.

A small, ornamental ring sporting the Halo of the Sun from Silent Hill. It was actually fairly cheap as far as jewelry goes, probably because it's a made-to-order-with-chosen-decal thing you can find on Etsy all the time, but it looks spiffy and just so happens to fit the part regardless.

My mum apparently found this in a tourist trap souvenir store; with the explanation behind it being that the alligator farms needed for alligator skin/meat products have next to no use for the heads, and will thus occasionally taxidermize them to sell to people who would get a kick out of this kind of stuff.

This is the second time someone has gifted me preserved animal remains. At this rate, I may eventually wind up with an old-timey hunter's trophy room completely through secondhand shenanigans.
