Can you guys recommend any folk music that focuses mainly on acoustic guitars?
dammit... I must get more Mike Oldfield records.
Well I like the post-rock genre. Are there other genres that are similar to post-rock?
I know this is a bit vague but can anyone suggest a sort of best of the 80's? Even the shitty pop stuff that was popular back then, I'm feeling in that sort of mood.

Shoegaze! Although I'm not very into it.
For spacey post-rock, check out Junius.
Well I like the post-rock genre. Might be worth looking into some of them. If you want bands/albums I can help.

Only a few of those are "80s" sounding. Some golden age hip hop albums have a distinct production but they're mostly timeless.
Can someone recommend me some funk in a similar vein to Parliament?
people who like my taste just suggest me anything
people who like my taste just suggest me anything
Yeah but you like everything...
I'll just give you something you probably won't find hard liking/something you haven't heard before:
Jorge Ben - Forca Bruta
Good album.
Looking for stuff similar to Kid A/Amnesiac by Radiohead, hard to name it, but basicly moody, mellow music.

Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin and Portishead.
Those are the first that spring to mind, so just pick an album by them.

some Bjork is kind of like that too.

Loving it.
Kind of weird that they went from Black Metal to Trip Hop. :v:
Can someone post songs that's like Gary Jules - Mad World?
Can someone post songs that's like Gary Jules - Mad World?
This always reminded me of Mad World. I don't know why, maybe because of the singer's voice?

Yeah, compare Shadows of the Sun with Bergtatt, it's crazy. Great band though.
Needless to say, it's all great music imo. Just different mindsets.
people who like my taste just suggest me anything
Ô Paon
Circle of Ouroborus
Skagos
Mudhoney
Amesoeurs
Looking for some music that makes one feel uneasy.
