Fleet Foxes, Death Grips, Tegan & Sara, Four Tet.
Thanks. I listened to Fleet Foxes' Helplessness Blues, which was pretty good. Think I'll need to listen to it a few more times to be able to work out whether I like it, though. Death Grips' Exmilitary was interesting, but difficult to listen to. I'm listening to Tegan and Sara's The Con at the moment, and it doesn't seem like something I'll be able to get into.

Maybe try so jealous, I think it's a better place to start.
I'm looking for more artists that mostly make instrumental songs. Preferably instrumental hip hop.
I already know about J Dilla. He's fantastic.

There's a DJ called DJ Shadow. He's something of a master in that area. :smug:

Unkle and DJ Shadow are two of the popular ones. Prefuse 73 is also good.
Thanks, I'll check them out.
Here, have the list of essential instrumental hop-hop.

I'd like to start listening to Bob Dylan, which albums do you guys recommend I listen to first?
I'd like to start listening to Bob Dylan, which albums do you guys recommend I listen to first?
Highway 61 or Blonde on Blonde. The former is more rock, the latter more folk. Either way you're getting a great album.

Thank ya kindly, I'll check them both out

Definately Highway 61 Revisited, or Freewheelin' if you want his more folk stuff. Highway 61 was his first foray into rock music, and he did it brilliantly

He already got into rock on Bringing It All Back Home.

Bringing it all back home was more folk and blues than rock proper. Although it was his first move towards rock, Highway 61 is when he actually got there
I'd like to start listening to Bob Dylan, which albums do you guys recommend I listen to first?
Freewheelin', Highway 61, Blood On The Tracks, Time Out Of Mind, Love And Theft.
I'm looking for ambient/idm "sobering" or "chilly/ing" stuff based on old documentary/educational film samples. Stuff kinda like
Tycho
Boards of Canada
Really hard to find stuff with the same "chilly" or "sobering" vibe as those two, but I'd love more!
I need to expand my music library since i just purchased a zune.
I mostly listen to Modest Mouse/Frans ferdiand/Sean Fournier/Volbeat. Any others i should know of?

Badge it and I'll give you some recommendations.
Here's one for you guys:
Can anyone recommend me any Blues Metal?
I've heard jazzy metal with Atheist/Opeth and the like, but I can't think of any metal with a clear blues sound (other than proto-metal from the early/mid-'70s)

Not entirely sure this is what you're after but this is my idea:

Again I'm not perfectly sure about your idea of Blues Metal. If you're talking about Delta Blues mixed with Metal then you've got a tough job finding it.
I've always thought Black Sabbath's first record was very bluesy
And sludge metal bands like Eyehategod, Acid Bath etc tend to have lots of bluesy riffs.

Again, if he's talking about blues like this:

Then he will have a hard journey ahead of him. Other than that... heavy blues rock is fairly easy to find.

Maybe something like Down, or other sludge metal bands like mikey suggested. I say Down because they're a bit less abrasive than a lot of sludge so the influence is normally easier to pick out

I listened to a few Down songs, they're pretty good. They're the sort of thing I'm after.
I also did a bit of poking and found bands like Clutch and Black Stone Cherry, bands like that.
Also I listened to the stuff Akayz posted and although it wasn't right on the money, I still enjoyed it.
Thanks guys
Anyone know of any deep dubstep or drum & bass along the lines of Breakage or Burial?
