I'm normally a punk/ska guy overall. my Favorites, being a bit more eclectic than just punk, are Screeching weasel, the Vandals, the Descendents, GWAR, System of a Down, Ministry, Mr. Bungle and Queens of the Stone Age. I'd love some more stuff like that. Especially like System or Queens.
well any queens of the stone age fan needs Kyuss of course, Josh's old band.
also maybe alice in chains, janes addiction, fugazi, missions of burma, wipers, the clash. sort of a variety there.
I need some depressing music and I need it now

City of Ifa, especially the song "Making Meanings" on Black Pyramid, and "Pygmy Jerboa" on Blue Shoes. Really helped me when I had ~girl problems~, so fucking emotional.
And Remembrance Dialogue by The Number Twelve Looks Like You.

download it and there'll be better quality.
and it's okay if you do, one of the band members even uploaded all the releases to mediafire. I'm still buying their stuff on CD though.
And yeah, they broke up. But they recently announced that they're making some sort of DVD, and so many people are telling them to get back together, and they've even said themselves that they want to, so maybe they will eventually.

These are all the artists I have of each one.
U2 (Pop/Alt. Rock)
Ultramagnetic MCs (Hip-Hop)
Uncle Tupelo (Alt. Country)
Underworld (Techno)
The United States of America (Psychedelic/Experimental rock)
Urge Overkill (Alt. Rock)
Usher (R&B)
X (Punk)
XTC (post-punk/new wave/baroque pop)
Frank Zappa (?)
The Zombies (Psychedelic/Baroque pop)
John Zorn (post-advant jazz core)
ZZ Top (Blues Rock)
My collection minus The Used:
Ulcerate(Death metal)
Umberto(Drone)
Univers Zero(Some form of rock)
Xander Harris(Witch house)
Out of those, I'd suggest Umberto and Xander Harris as execeptionally good.
Never listened to witch house, might start with that
It's some really atmospheric stuff. I love listening to it on a really quiet, dark night.
