it's not all exactly what you want (smashing pumpkins are probably the closest to what you're after), but it's what i got and you can take it or leave it
i have some more hipster 90s stuff as well but that's not really what you're after so i'll save it for another time
(band names are links to yt videos, I figured it was easier to parse this way than a huge wall of videos)
-oh my god im dumb you already mentioned it-
ty, I used to listen to early green day and smashing pumpkins, you just reminded me of them. I'll check the other ones out, too
can someone suggest me something hip-hop and rock fused
can someone suggest me something hip-hop and rock fused
I don't really know what ya mean. Like, rock-influenced beats? There's plenty of that I could show if so
I need to vastly expand my music library.
Some artists I like:
Aerosmith
Bad company
Black Sabbath
Blue Oyster Cult
Dio
Dire Straits
Electric Light Orchestra
Foo Fighters
Gorillaz
Metallica
Ozzy Osbourne
Pink Floyd
Queen
Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Rolling Stones
Soundgarden
The Black Keys
What would you guys suggest?

this is pretty hard to take on just because these are bands i don't really listen to, and so many of them have such diverse libraries that i can recommend for one part of their sound or another but i don't know which you like but here we go
gorrilaz: there's a lot of choices here (especially since demon days is almost a sampler album, designed to introduce people to a lot of different types of music), but i'm going to have to go with dj shadow
he's not exactly the same, but very entry-level and easy to get into instrumental hip-hop, and i'd even go so far as to say endtroducing is the single greatest hip-hop album of all time
black sabbath: what exactly are we talking about? master of reality? paranoid? planet caravan? for the doomier stuff (master of reality) i'm gonna have to go with blood ceremony, who are almost a complete rip off early sabbath and jethro tull, but still manage to sound great
if you like paranoid more, just give zep a spin
pink floyd: we have two options here (actually we have lots more but these are the two that come to mind)-- sleepy sun who are a modern psychedelic band and do it quite well and grails who basically sound like walking through a desert (as well as the linked song having huge influences from great gig in the sky)
rhcp and foo fighters: ok honestly just look up like 4 posts to where i posted a bunch of other bands because those fit here too
chances are i'm completely off the mark but i've done my best
also just to throw a couple things at you to see if you like it, try modest mouse, kyuss, the national, and for shits and giggles, try gy!be

Since you like Pink Floyd, at least give King Crimson's In the Court of the Crimson King a shot:

Who are some good textural vocalists? Totally bizarre folk like Björk, Ogre and Tom Waits.
[editline]13th March 2012[/editline]
I guess a better way to put would be experimental vocalists.

David Sylvian is kind of. Although not "THAT" out there.

Joanna Newsom

Elvis Costello is a bit crazy too.
Same with Morrissey, Captain Beefheart, Kate Bush, Frank Zappa.
Thanks for the suggestions yous guys. :v:

Try some NWOBHM stuff like Iron Maiden. If you like Black Sabbath try Judas Priest and listen to the new Christian Mistress album.

If you like Pink Floyd try King Crimson, like Hakita said. Although I'd recommend the album Red as compared to ITCotCK because their sound on Red is a lot closer to Pink Floyd.

For Metallica I'd try other thrash bands. If you're a fan of Metallica's post-...And Justice For All work try Megadeth's album Countdown To Extinction.

If you like Metallica's earlier work try Megadeth's earlier work.

If you find yourself liking Megadeth's earlier work try the other two Big 4 bands, Slayer and Anthrax.

if Im not wrong, there was some of that in the soundtrack for the flatout/burnout games, but I don't remember much, so I may be wrong

Here's a good one. Doom metal without the nasally vocals. Something like Candlemass without the vox from Dream Theater. Kinda like Dark Castle maybe. Any suggestions?

Oops I know I'm late but try Keb Mo', Guy Davis or Chris Thomas King.

Subrosa
Thorr's Hammer
Tombs
i mostly listen to bands/artists such as:
Panic! at the disco
Mumford & Sons
The Offspring
Ed Sheeran
General Fiasco
Can anyone offer me some bands that follow the same type of music style? (i believe its called alternative, not quite sure about how correct that is though)
