I just realized that I kinda like 90's hip-hop. What are some must-haves?
Nas - Illmatic (already been said but bears repeating)
I love weird stuff (World's End Girlfriend being one of my all time favorite artists), so I'm definitely going to have to check his stuff out. This one also sounds very good. Which album(s) should I get from him first?
L'Absente or Le Phare should be the very first ablum you get, definitely. But seeing as you mistakingly put DJ Shadow in there, go for "The Avalanches". also Saltillo's Ganglion album is a supreme mix of trip hop with classical. Also things like Burial are up with that crowd.
But seeing as you mistakingly put DJ Shadow in there
I never understood that, DJ Shadow is always associated with Trip-Hop. I do not get it, I heard some songs of him and it was nothing like I expected it to be, maybe I am missing something. But it did not sound like Trip-Hop at all.
I've never seen him associated with Trip Hop, even though the music is still very euphoric like many Trip Hop albums. What he does is along the lines of what The Avalanches do, you'll like them.
Well, I can't remember it anymore but often when someone asked for Trip-Hop, someone mentioned Trip-Hop. Also on several online webpages the name Shadows falls under Trip-Hop. Perhaps he had some projects.
Hey guys, do you know anything for somebody who likes 'chill' DnB and Dubstep? And maybe some ambient, noise and chill rap beats?

Greetings music-people, I came here from another forum in order to seek the best of the best suggestions. Recently I discovered that I love hitchhikers-guide-to-the-galaxy-like music after watching Portal 2 Perpetual Testing Initiative trailer, especially the part where it shows the multiverse the music is just too great. So I'm seeking for some suggestions =)

Looking for a modern day punk rock band that emulates the more mainstream style like the early 90's. Think about pennywise or early greenday/offspring and stuff. I'm not looking for hardcore punk.
I love hitchhikers-guide-to-the-galaxy-like music
I've heard good things about them albums but not sure what I'd recommend because I have no clue what type of music you're after. I'm guessing ambient?
