Also I'm looking for some fun punk music like The Vandals' album 'Hitler Bad, Vandals Good'.

Blade Runner soundtrack
Hey guys, so I've recently had an injury and have to stay in my house for a few more days. I don't have any friends visiting either, so I'm kind of depressed. I've been trying to find some music that would cheer me up. You know, music that has 'heart' to it. I've been listening to a few songs that really made me smile and just forget about anything shitty that has happened to me for the past few years.
Here's some music I've been listening to so far (sorry for it mostly being from the 50s-90s, can't find many joyful and happy songs these days)
Louis Armstrong - A Kiss To Build A Dream On
Bob Sinclair - Sound of Freedom, Lala Song, World Hold On
Jimmy Durante - Ink a'Dink a'Doo (my personal favorite)
The Mills Brothers - Mr. Sandman (you could consider it a sort-of depressing song, but it just cheers me up so much)
Anyone have more mood-rising songs? Personal favorites and so on.

I'm bored and I need new music.
Check my Last.FM if you want to know what kind of stuff I listen to, but I'm open for almost anything.
Except for some really heavy metal.

Thanks, both of you.
And to T.F.W.O.: I prefer to listen to music as albums, though, so, from those artists, what are albums that are consistently good?

Saul Williams: The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust
Holy Fuck: self titled
Jarboe: Sacrificial Cake
Kidneythieves: Zerospace
Skinny Puppy: Too Dark Park
Alright, thanks, I'll check them when I have the time.
I'm looking for more music (I'd love whole albums or artists rather than just single songs) with the same style of music as these songs:

I love this music but my knowledge of artists during their era is very limited.
I'd love it if someone could recommend some post-punk/indie (or whatever you'd call it) bands along the lines of Belle and Sebastian, The Smiths, Joy Division, etc. :v:

The Cure
Echo and the Bunnymen
Maybe check out some Swans too? Start with White Light From The Mouth of Infinity and branch out from there. Their music gets more abrasive as you go back and more experimental as you move forward, either way the middle part of their career is definitely the most accessible, not to mention most post-punk influenced.

The Chameleons
The Jesus & Mary Chain
Red Lorry Yellow Lorry
Primal Scream's first album
The Stone Roses
Blur
Pulp
Suede

Thanks for the recommendations.
While I really prefer modern prog metal over 70's prog rock, there are still some really good older albums out there.
Ill give them a listen once I get home.

Sorry, but I can't. The only thing other than School Food Punishment I can think of that's even close is a few Supercell songs. Someone else might be able to help, though
I'm looking to expand my library. I currently listen to artists like Astronautalis (I particularly like Contrails and Story of My Life), The Killers, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Starfucker, and sometimes Tokyo Police Club. Any suggestions?

You might like The Strokes and The Hives.
I'm looking for some good "Pissed off" songs, something in the line of American Head Charge, Godsmack, Korn or Slipknot sugestions?

Doesn't really fall in the same category as those bands but when I'm pissed off I love to listen to Death From Above 1979 and Pulled Apart By Horses.
