Thanks :D
Hello. I like fast-paced punk rock. Here's some examples:
I like Alex Clare. Can someone suggest music similar to his? Links are fine. Lots of videos on one page make me lag. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivyb3VIl-6o http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYXjLbMZFmo [editline]21st September 2012[/editline] My tastes change so quickly. I don't even. My pandora stations range from one side of the musical spectrum to the other with a few gaps inbetween...
dubstep soul? not heard of it.
I want to start building a jazz collection. What are some must have jazz albums?
Does anyone know of any music similar to the Diva Dance from The Fifth Element? Skip to 3:12 if you're unfamiliar to what I'm talking about Most regular opera bores me, but I have certain exceptions like this, the opening to Elfen Lied, and The Ecstasy of Gold from The Good the Bad and the Ugly [editline]4th October 2012[/editline] I'll be back later, I have welding class now
I want to start building a jazz collection. What are some must have jazz albums?
Miles Davis' Kind of Blue
This request might seem very weird, but please bare with me. I was looking for some relaxing Synth based music (Late eighties/early 90's). Something like the instrumental arrangement on Pink Floyd's Learning to Fly: Or something like this: I have no idea which type of genre this is called, but I hear it all the time and it seems really relaxing to me.
I want to start building a jazz collection. What are some must have jazz albums?
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue, Sketches of Spain, In A Silent Way and Bitches Brew at least. Get some John Coltrane also, some Duke Ellington, some Herbie Hancock and some Thelonius Monk Also I highly recommend the Cowboy Bebop OST!
Also I highly recommend the Cowboy Bebop OST!
Especially the first one. The others are fine, but not nearly as awesome.
I'd like some more stuff like this, really down tempo, hollow, drawn-out(?) sorta sound.

I'm mainly looking for Smooth Jazz specifically. I've heard bits of this genre before, but I would greatly appreciate if someone could point me into the direction of the better artists in this genre. Thanks in advanced!
Or something like this:
Get yer lugholes round some Jean Michelle Jarre. And maybe some of Aphex Twin's ambient works too.
This kind of thing?
not really, I can't really explain it very well, just the sort of sound in the song I posted

Not really. But what you're looking for is new age, ambient works around the 1980s and early 1990s.

I'm not asking for suggestions, lol

Combin0wnage, have a listen to some Kraftwerk if you haven't already too.
I want to start building a jazz collection. What are some must have jazz albums?
no point unless you find the style of jazz that you are most compatible with. From what I know about you, I'd say the lounge style of the jazz won't appeal to you yet. In my opinion, you can dive straight into the jazz fusion: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitches_Brew I know you're a fan of ambient things too, so you'll do well with this remix album: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panthalassa:_The_Music_of_Miles_Davis_1969-1974 don't be disheartened by the fact that it's a remix album, trust me... it's damn good.

Hi, Not entirely sure how to put into words my taste in music, kind of like a mix of rock and classical instruments such as violins etc., you can probably tell by my description that I am a wee bit musically inept but my library only has about 50 songs in it so I am desperately trying to find new stuff. Listen to the crescendo/chorus of these to get an idea of what I mean: Sorry for being so vague but I really have no idea what to even search last.fm for.
Dubstep is really good, especially when you're partying XP

Also you'll be very interested in Brian Eno, try his "Another Green World" album.

That original song is an Arcade Fire song, so you should definitely try them out - they have a good mix of instruments as well. Also my personal preference would say that you should try out the Colour of Spring by Talk Talk, good mix of instruments and really interesting album no matter what genres you're into!
Looking for Ska Punk and Noise Rock.
