This is my current collection, excluding all the stuff I listen to on Spotify. If you see any bands you know are similar to anything I have, let me know. I generally like alt/indie rock or music that's very vocal-centric.
I'm a big fan of Deadmau5, Glitch Mob, Daft Punk, Beastie Boys, Lindsey Stirling, and DubFX. Who else would I like?
Is there any other postrock band out there with the dark feeling that Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Set Fire to Flames gives off?
Also, any suggestions off of this list would be cool
Swans
Kids and Explosions
Boris
Russian Circles
Gojira
Venetian Snares

Can anyone recommend me some stuff?
I want to listen to something with a heavy emphasis on drumming, like the last 5 minutes of this song:

I love it how the guitar and bass only provide slow and very repetitive riffs to set up the atmosphere, while the drummer pretty much takes over and owns the rest of the song. The drumming flows so well, it makes me wish the song just went on for a lot longer.
Does anyone know of anything similar to this? It doesn't necessarily need to be metal, I just want to hear some powerful, impressive drumming.
Try Vision Creation Newsun by Boredoms. The drums carry pretty much the entire album

I'm listening through it now for the second time, but I'm not entirely sure what to think of it, I guess it's one of those albums that you have to hear multiple times before you really get it. The drumming is definitely damn good though. Thanks for mentioning it.
Anyone know songs with good brass backings like these:

Suggesting this to everyone. It's so atmospheric, and the lyrics are amazing. And her voice. Jesus Christ. I'm sold.

If you like Betraying the martyrs, you should try another bands int the French scene like As They Burn(deathcore with some atmospheric/ambient stuff) and Dagoba (groove/industrial Metal).

For the Sumeriancore/djent stuff, try After the Burial, The Haarp Machine or Red Seas Fire.

Converge, atleast that specific song, was.. meh. The screams were horrible honestly.
The rest is just right, though, Strapping Young Lad is something I gotta get in to more as I love Devin's own project (saw them some month ago, was amazing).
I really like the beat of this song, anything similar to it?

If you want Beatles-y stuff, give Pink Floyd a shot.
For Brubeck, you should definitely listen to Miles Davis and John Coltrane.
pink floyd dont sound anything like the beatles what are you smoking hakita
if you want stuff like the beatles just check out the beach boys and the byrds and the monkees and all that stuff.

Well I don't listen to the Beatles, I just think Floyd whenever I think Beatles, since both are super-popular pop-rock bands from around the same period.
Pink floyd is not the same era as the beatles nor is it pop rock
but they dont sound anything alike hakita
i hate u guys

Try late John Martyn, Cream, Grateful Dead, The Box Tops for your rock interest, The Mills Brothers and Fats Waller for you jazz interest.
You'll also probably enjoy blues considering your prefered genres are very related to and through it :v:
