Give me music where it feels like you're in a futuristic world. Thank you.
Gary Numan and Tubeway Army. awwww yeh.
rock with lots of obscure instruments
any drumstep? :O
rock with lots of obscure instruments
Kaizers Orchestra are perfect. They use a lot of odd percussion, organs, saxophone etc They sing in norwegian though if that's a turnoff
Give me music where it feels like you're in a futuristic world. Thank you.
Tangerine Dream's Zeit and Alpha Centauri, is among the good albums that you already have. Edgar Froese's Ages album is also up there, and is a really lengthy album unlike TD's short 30 minute ish works
Thankyou mang. I'm not surprised you gave me "Berlin School" music. I already love Jean-Michel Jarre and I just can't get enough of that stuff. :v:
Oh yes, Wikipedia should have a list of bands that do Berlin School. Sorry to be lazy, but it's helping
Yeah, I'm gonna need some Klaus Schulze in my library. Seriously cannot wait to hear that stuff. :respek:
Plan on getting any Berlin School vinyls?
Yeah, if I can find the stuff. I think they sold a fair few in the UK. Moreso than the US, but I'll have to do some good digging. :smugdog: [editline]22nd June 2011[/editline] You never what you'll find, I did get some Adrian Wagner which was amazing. Never pressed on CD which is crap.
Well for people like you that own a record player, that shouldn't be a problem. I'd love to press vinyl works as a mean of anti-piracy.
The crap thing is, less people know about the really obscure stuff so it's all gone by word of mouth. So in reality, the obscure stuff on the net is actually not as obscure as the things on vinyl that aren't even on the net any more. :v:
Fuck the system
I think this makes us more hipster. But oh well. :smug:
I would like to avoid that.
Couldn't care less, this is really inspired stuff. It's not us who are missing out, it's the non-hipsters. :slick:
I'm looking for more artists that mostly make instrumental songs. Preferably instrumental hip hop. I already know about J Dilla. He's fantastic.
Flying Lotus, pretty experimental, but fucking awesome. Uses loads of soul and jazz-samples. Fits great with some weed and good headphones. Or RJD2. He's great too. [editline]22nd June 2011[/editline]
I'm looking for ambient/idm "sobering" or "chilly/ing" stuff based on old documentary/educational film samples. Stuff kinda like Tycho Boards of Canada Really hard to find stuff with the same "chilly" or "sobering" vibe as those two, but I'd love more!
Try checking out The Books Pretty messy stuff, samples all over. [editline]22nd June 2011[/editline]
Does anyone have songs similar to that of Godspeed's? [editline]15th June 2011[/editline] I'm looking for instrumentals
Dunno if anybody suggested it, but Mogwai is soooo good. I mean really good [editline]22nd June 2011[/editline]
Thanks. Anything that creates futuristic landscapes kind of atmosphere is also welcome. :3:
Flying Lotus is out of this world The tag on youtube even says space :v:
As someone who loves Arcade Fire and barely knows any other indie rock, what should I listen to?
Broken Social Scene. Kind of like Arcade Fire with actually good instrumentalists. (I still love AF though) also: Interpol (first album), The National, The Strokes, Belle & Sebastian (fave by a mile), Pavement, The Smiths, Neutral Milk Hotel, Pixies, Clann Zu, Galaxie 500, Built to Spill (modest mouse fans, get this), Motorpsycho, American Football, Sleater Kinney, Dinosaur Jr., Sebadoh, Yo La Tengo, Los Planetas
Give me foreign psychedelic folk music This is what I've been hearing, is awesome. :3:
I want some moody/atmospheric ambient electronic music. And I already listened to Aphex Twin and Jean-Michel André Jarre. So yeah, any great ambient artists.

Thanks, I'll check this out.

Might to be careful with some Eno stuff. He can go a bit drone doomy sometimes :smugdog:
Might to be careful with some Eno stuff. He can go a bit drone doomy sometimes :smugdog:
What are you talking about, Music for Airports is all airy and sobering
I wasn't talking about that album in particular, I'm just talking about Eno, chill.
