... is that an MG-42? I thought it must be an MG-3 but the cyclic rate seems high.
I really wouldn't be surprised. Shit like the STG-44 has found its way into the war so I don't think it's far off for an MG42 to have, and I think there was even a spotting of a fucking T-34 being used before our glorious jet bombers blew it to bits.
what the fuck does rolling away from the enemy do to protect you?
Making yourself as small of a target as possible while still being mobile
Man, the combat rolls on these guys, do they play ArmA?
I wonder just how many Abu Hajaars there are in the Islamic State.
I'm baffled by how poorly their equipment was organized. They spent so many precious seconds goofing around to find vital equipment.

They tried to shoot dug in defenders with an rpg, their whole plan was doomed from the start. I suppose this is what happens when every one of their leaders get right away bombed to pieces by everyone. Also their equipment was quite shit too.
I would guess such goofs are a minority in ISIS, otherwise how the hell did they manage to capture so much land and control? There's no way they can control cities if their forces consist of untrained bafoons like this.
Getting real tired of your bullshit, Abu Hajaar
I didn't know Carl had a Muslim cousin.
I wonder just how many Abu Hajaars there are in the Islamic State.
I did a web search on the guy's name. The closest I could get was Al Hajar mountains. According to wiki it means https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Hajar_Mountains
In Arabic, "Al" means "the" and "Hajar" means "stone". So "Al Hajar" would be defined as "the stone". Therefore, "Al Hajar Mountains" could mean "the stony mountains"
For this dude? It can mean "rock head" or "thick as a rock". Edit: I did a bit more digging. It is a nick name given to the fella. It means "father of David". This man has a son named David. Fuck it. I like my google forced mistranslation better. Lets just pretend it means "rock head".

What I want to know is, what genius thought it would be a good idea to attack an enemy position by going over an open field with hills to the right that are occupied by enemy forces, you would be hard pressed to find a worse situation to put yourself in than that.
Making yourself as small of a target as possible while still being mobile
it just seems so worthless, if you've got a sharp shooter in a trench seeing someone rolling around in the open in broad daylight, that's an easy pick these dudes might as well of fought at their vehicle till the very end instead of retreating by rolling about
We should convince ISIS to make an entire army of genome soldiers based off of Abu Hajaar.
lol, religion... (User was banned for this post ("Why reply?" - Pascall))
Honestly irregardless of their units actions after dismount these guys were all dead before they even set off. In regards to everyone referring to how strange it is they all prone and attempt rolling away. You can't expect to take a entrenched position with 3 (?) small teams of guys in shoddy made up-armored trucks with rifles, lsw's and a couple of at rockets, not to mention on-top of that like you said they seemed to be attempting a frontal assault and in general when going against a entrenched position you need air or mortar/artillery support.
over open ground, without a smokescreen
over open ground, without a smokescreen
I wouldn't be surprised if the Kurds didn't take a single casualty during that entire battle.
of course, they're a threat, and deserve to be dealt with as a threat. but the video does humanize them
which im wondering if vice knew that this video was going to humanize them considering that all vice does is post really fucking out there controversial shit for views
I am conflicted about this video. On one hand, you view them as children who have no fucking clue what they're doing. On the other hand, you view them as terrorists who would gladly take part in mass genocide.
Both of these are true and it's important to remember that, I think demonizing the enemy does more harm than good tbh
which im wondering if vice knew that this video was going to humanize them considering that all vice does is post really fucking out there controversial shit for views
we'll never really know the true intentions of them posting this video. whether it be posted to make isis look like a bunch of disorganised fools, or you make you think "wow, they're actually humans and feel other emotions than just blind headchopping rage"
which im wondering if vice knew that this video was going to humanize them considering that all vice does is post really fucking out there controversial shit for views
really, the only way to really solve terrorism is not to stop viewing them as humans. How the hell are we going to solve anything by demonizing the subject we are tying to understand and solve? And the solution is not through "kill first ask later", it's never going to disappear that way. [editline]28th April 2016[/editline] For me I found the video to be pretty sad to be honest. To me, watching these unskilled soldiers just speaks the mere fact these are any people, any person, civilian, being riled into a war they have no idea the scale of. I'm assuming that most Daesh soldiers never really get any larger extent of advanced military training.

That guy gets so fucking butthurt about getting hit by ejected brass. Sure it's hot, but live rounds coming in from an unsuppressed enemy hurt a lot worse. Not that they have a serious grasp on much of anything.
How do you even get hit by brass from an MG3? It ejects from the bottom.
How do you even get hit by brass from an MG3? It ejects from the bottom.
Abu 'Hit your mates with a bullet case' Hajaar was probably holding the MG sideways or something
What kind of a ISIS super terrorist is peeved by getting hit by brass? Sure I don't like it at the range but that's not a combat situation.Youd think by then they would be too busy not dying to care about brass from the dude potentially saving your life.
it doesn't even bother me at the range tbh. if it's winter time I'm wearing too much clothes to feel it and if it's summer time I'm already too busy having a heat stroke to care by the time I get set up
Why would they abandon the vehicle? It was the only cover they had for miles around...
Why would they abandon the vehicle? It was the only cover they had for miles around...
the diver was killed, they were sitting ducks. they were attempting to get the driver out so someone else could pilot it.
