I still find it amazing that I'm going to see people visiting an asteroid when I'm in my twenties.
I know, it's awesome. I hope i'll be rich by then so I will be able to buy one
Are you 10?
No, I'm sixteen nearly seventeen. It's happening in ten years.
Or if I'm wrong and it's fifteen years then I'll be in my early thirties. Either way, it's incredible.
Merging NASA and the our defense budget would be amazing. But with a corporate head in the NASA division, so that they could get things done
Space warfare, Fuck yeah!
I won't trust the current american governments decision until we get a promise on human exploration of Mars before 2025.
We CAN do it, we just need to put some more money into it.
And by the way: I don't want space warfare.
Sure, private space ventures are good and all, what with all the pressure from competition, but I can't help but worry that we are going to end up giving too much power to these corporations and end up with company-owned colonies.

Are you some kind of crazy? It would be so retardedly bad it would be amazing

Its like the 1800's when corporations owned factory's and basically all of their workers life's.

but with even more control
Obama needs to construct additional pylons.

Lives
I wish we could sell NASA and give it to the private enterprise, they have more money to spend solely on this shit. The private enterprise is much more efficient with their money.
Eyy Obama did something right!
On a side note, my friend's parents work for NASA. He brought his parent's laptop to school for school work, and I clicked on one of the random word documents when he wasn't looking, and holy shit. It was all a mix of weird symbols and crap like that when your printer breaks.
I had a friend that told me awhile ago that space colonization would be up to private corporations. I guess he was right.
Hell, they're already doing space tourism.
You know, if the USA didn't get involved in any of the wars after WWII, we could have been colonizing fucking mars by now.
I'm glad, the US government has officially failed in space exploration.

What the hell are you on about?
I talked to a lot of engineers working for governments, it's a really shitty job. Governments aren't quick to respond to changes and take ages to aprove anything, plus NASA was desgined to be anti-spy and non-centralised so it's incredibly inneficient. There's nothing special about private corporations, no free market magic or smart CEOs, they are just wired to respond to situations better because they have to worry about profit and efficiency more than governments.

You know... I'm glad we got involved in all of those wars. Because without the constant wars we wouldn't of advanced military technology, and if we never advanced in military technology we would never have a space program or even have the internet for that matter.
If I go to Mars in my lifetime I'm starting the Red Faction.

What about the demons!? Or Marscorp
Soon the DoD might spare some cash for NASA in return of building them a military space station. EndWar anybody?
Bullcrap bout no weapons in space or the russians would have everyone by the balls.
Its a good thing that Obama is giving companies a chance to start their own space programs. By 2050 we would have hotels in space, a colony on the Moon, and (hopefully) a starting colony on Mars.

What you're looking at is an annotated sketch of a suit designed to get you from orbit to the ground with no spacecraft. Real orbital drops with no pods. Read about it here.
Orbital drops with no pods? That would be pretty cool, both for military and sports. Just imagine sky-divers trying this thing out.
The future is coming up pretty fast, hell I wouldn't be surprised if we create space-travel technology in the next 40-100 years.
Wow, this is all pretty awesome!

Depends on the type of company. If some RDA/Weyland-Yutani type company comes up, then I'd say that we know how it will end.
Hell, if I owned a company that could have access to space, I would do the same thing but do the complete opposite of those companies, helping humanity instead of my own greed.
Orbital drops would be fucking mental.
How the hell would you even make it to the ground and survive.
Oh fucking boy, 2042 somone finds the UAC and builds a mars station.

Pfft no. Iran launched a turtle and a worm into space, that shit is dangerous
