I rode a longboard for the first time the morning after my LSA trip (hadn't slept and it was about 6:30am). Hard for me to get used to at first, but once I got going it was a fucking blast. I probably won't buy one till I get to use one a bit more first. But I do plan on getting one.
Like I said the hunter is cool for a first board but I love comet and custom boards people make. Lush are pretty badass too and if you like homade boards (mostly down hill stuff) check out dmitri komarov's website because the boards he makes are the shit.
I love cruising on my skateboard. I can't do much in terms of tricking but fuck, I just love bombing hills. Had a smoke today with a friend then went for a skate, shit's great.
I skateboard. I love getting high and skateboarding, feeling the road under my board, feel the vibrations running into my feet, flowing with the skateboard, feel the wind brush past my body...it's chill. I can trick better when I'm high than when I'm sober too O_o
Longboarding is fucking awesome I've ridden a longboard many times, it's so chill and unlike skateboards they are not to stiff and won't slow down so easily
There are absolutely no skate shops in my area. :saddowns:
i snowboard
Just noticed that this was in DD, longboarding whilst high just makes it a whole new experience in itself.
i snowboard
Smart guy, snowboarding is fucking ace. It's a shame for the average person you can't do it very often, compared to when the weather is good you can go longboarding anytime. Got snowboarding tomorrow though, I'm a happy man.
The weather here sucks most of the time but im moving near a beach where its warm <3 Gonna get my kilima too so its going to be a awesome time
I skate, not nearly as much as I'd like to though
There are absolutely no skate shops in my area. :saddowns:
Just order your shit from CCS.com dude, they've got a wide selection of boards and trucks and shit. That's where i do all my skateboard shopping. if I remember correctly you can actually choose all the hardware and shit and they'll ship it to you put together for additional charge. don't hold my word on that though, i can't really remember
Personally i prefer a little trick bike over a long board/skateboard for these reasons 1. much cooler looking (my opinion, don't hate) 2. has the potential for infinitely better handling than a board of any kind 3. goes much faster with less effort 4. takes less skill and hard knocks to master the only negative i can see is that you can't take it everywhere, but then again i'd rather attach my manual mode of transportation to an immovable object than carry it around with me when i'm not using it. and i guess bikes are more complicated than boards thus are more expensive
I've been skating for about 7-8 years on and off I have gotten pretty good over the years lately I've been working on my switch tricks landed a switch tre today like my 3rd ever :). Me and a few of my friends are putting together a 10 min or so video thats going to be released on youtube when its done. None of us are sponsored or anything so its not going to be incredible or anything just me and a few of my friends having fun. We put out a teaser the other day it was just a bunch of clips of us falling pretty much was a joke. If you guys want to watch it the link is below I'm Ryan the kid in the grey. I love longboarding while blazing. Fresno's got some good areas for cruising around puffing off of a joint. I've been longboarding for 3 years and love going up to the mountains to bomb lake-area roads.
I really enjoy skateboarding. The couple of times I've done it high have been really interesting. One time I felt like I was playing Tony Hawk, and I really sucked as in I couldn't even ollie, but I still had a bunch of fun. The other other time I didn't do too bad and everything was way too epic and felt like an intense movie that was done in a exclusively in wide screen. I really was having some awesome visual distortions.

Long boards ride so smooth and so fast. Skateboards really aren't that effective at getting anywhere.
i started skating in august can ollie, shuv, pop-shuv, fs shuv, fs pop-shuv and can almost kickflip edit: cant skate for shit when high though, all balance and co-ordination is lost its easier to ride fast though, its just tricks i cant do when high edit: this is my new deck (got it for xmas) flip deck (duh), tensor trucks, speed demon titanium T8 bearings (ABEC 7), flip wheels
I've spent the past 3 hours looking through different sites, seeing what boards they had and their postage prices and stuff and I think I finally found the one I wanna call "my first longboard". http://www.skateboardexpress.com.au/pintail-longboard-46.html I primarily want something I can cruise around on. And once I'm alright, I wouldn't mind riding it to work (30 minute walk) on a semi-regular basis.

I do have a skateboard but I don't ride it because I have strange balance issues that stopped me from actually being able to properly ollie whilst moving. I love riding around but the ride is too rough on it, hurts my feet. That's why I want a longboard. [editline]19th January 2011[/editline] Forgot to add what I was going to actually say there: Maybe I can sell it and use the profits to buy a longboard.

I probably won't cause i don't feel like going through all that falling and nearly busting my kneecaps just for an adrenaline rush when there are other natural ways i can feel it. i dunno if i ever learned how to fall on a skateboard though
I despise bikers at skate parks. In my experience, they are always dicks who cut you off and try not to let you use anything.

Started longboarding around late September, bad time to start really because I only got to board around for a couple weeks before it started snowing hardcore. It's real chill though and it's my new favorite way to get around, weather permitting.
the only longboarders i know are complete bumholes with math haircuts etc.
the only longboarders i know are complete bumholes with math haircuts etc.
What's a math haircut? Like getting the multiplication tables shaved into the side of your head?
The other day I skated for the first time in 2 years Feels good man
