You can get the books for an incredibly cheap price used on Amazon, so if you were wanting more books I would stop there.
My desktop background, right now, is a picture of Calvin and Hobbes resting on a tree in Autumn. :iia:
Totally dressed up as Calvin on a dress up day at primary school, even died my hair blonde :v:
Noodle incident.
Discuss.

That was my phone background for quite a bit.
Also on that picture i found this one day on imgur:
The uploaders comment:
I taught my five-year-old son how to use MS Paint for art a couple of days ago, and have had a Calvin and Hobbes wallpaper up on my desktop for a while. The result is my proudest moment as a father.
Didn't even know about this comic series. Really good themes centered around life, I likey.
I have every book. I have read them all countless times too. Great comic.
I think I have this comic to thank for my vocabulary
I have a box in my attic full of Calvin & Hobbes books for reasons I don't remember
Wow I really missed out didn't I? I don't remember reading anything this cool back in Germany... And by the time I moved to America I was to old to want to read these...
Damn it I missed out, might have to buy some of those books. From what I have looked at on the internet these are so nice. made me go all :unsmith:
my dad had all of them before my parents divorced. We used to read them all the time together, he left one for me. When I asked him for the other ones several years later he told me that he got rid of them when he married my step-mother because they were 'inappropriate'.
Broke my fucking heart.
:v: I want to say I have every book except Snow Goons. Ordered most of them through the Scholastic Book Club. Fond memories of pestering my teachers about when the books would arrive.
Thanks OP, gotta go search my basement for as many of these as I can find now.
Also, drew the cover of Something Under the Bed is Drooling for my brother's birthday card.
I remember reading the last panel, and getting a weird mixed sense of sadness and happiness.
One of the local newspaper here has Calvin and Hobbes in the Comics section. :buddy:
One of my favorite comics ever
Best parts are the imagination parts

Im gonna start crying so hard if you guys keep posting stuff like this
I freaking love this Calvin and Hobbes. I used to have a ton of the books when I was younger, but then lost them all when they caught on fire along with the interior of my brother's car.
Bill Waterson had the right idea to retire from making strips, just like Berkley Breathed did when he retired Bloom County until he started up new strips and ruined it. In fact, Breathed's example shows what C+H would be like if it continued. Soulless, making you wish for the old strips again.

I'm gonna go buy one of the books tomorrow, this thread actually made me happy and sad. Strange considering I've only ever heard of C&H before.
Calvin and Hobbes is the best comic - this is simply fact. I own most of the books, Calvin and Hobbes 4 lyfe
I read these in like 2nd grade, and to my parent's dismay, I tried my hardest to emulate Calvin for the next few years.
Just scanned some strips..

This must be an american only thing because I and everyone I know had never heard of this until the internet.
I have all the books, except that I lost Weirdos from another planet.
I've been planning on re-buying it for years now, but I haven't been to Borders in forever.
