So... this is pretty undecided so far. Any ideas?
Theme is HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF, yes?
Theme is HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF, yes?
no.
it seems the overall interest lies with killings and madness. Very sane forum this is. :)
Currently it seems like the theme is going to be "Descent into Madness" according to this post.
Madness it is then. So do people like my idea of "man gets banned and goes insane"?
no.
yes you do.
nope.
Hmm shoot, already had a song for the Kids run from home and discover theme all done. My friend (who moved two weeks ago, too bad too, I was going to do more work with him.) did the vocals over the summer and I put it out two months ago, but it would go well with this
I voted for that just to avoid the other ones
what do you propose?
I propose we have a specific story in mind to span the album, regardless of what theme we do. Descent into madness would be cool if done right. [editline]21st November 2011[/editline] Also, quick test to see just how terrible the quality of recording available to me is I.E if it's possible, could I be a pain in the ass and ask someone to clean up my submission, since it'll be probably be full of noise and lo-fi as hell
I propose we have a specific story in mind to span the album, regardless of what theme we do. Descent into madness would be cool if done right.
Yeah, that's pretty much the idea for the madness thing. Doesn't have to be a story as such though.
Didn't come out too awful actually Still, I have done very little editing of music, so any help would be awesome
Didn't come out too awful actually Still, I have done very little editing of music, so any help would be awesome
Just experiment with sounds. I'm no musician at all, but I mess with sounds that I think are interesting.
Uh, by editing I mean post-production
Worry about that later, what's important is that it isn't too loud.
how about a concept album where each song is styled after a different concept album [editline]21st November 2011[/editline] (dont take this seriously as a suggestion its dumb)
What I was worried about is it being listenable AT ALL Let alone fit to go on an album

The spike at 0:13 is there because the instrument is probably too close to the microphone, and the sudden burst in volume becomes overpowering which creates distortion. So, put the microphone farther away from the guitar, or lower the recording volume, it should hopefully remove the noise. The noise is probably from electrical interference though, which is really common in low-quality microphones. But nonetheless, the putting mic/lowering volume is still essential so you should do that. =)
recording at lower volumes is for wusses i record at red son it's the only way to be
recording at lower volumes is for wusses i record at red son it's the only way to be
you are the reason i make music (,:
What about a Hamlet-themed concept album? That play is riddled with madness and death and all the crazy stuff FP loves.
What about a Hamlet-themed concept album?
What about a Hamlet-themed concept album? That play is riddled with madness and death and all the crazy stuff FP loves.
i hate stories grr concept albums went down the drain in 1979 and have never been good since qqqqqq
i hate stories grr concept albums went down the drain in 1979 and have never been good since qqqqqq
Quit whining. Seriously, every post you make seems to be some complaint or another. If you weren't so closed-minded maybe you wouldn't get so butthurt all the time.
are you really missing the joke?
Concept albums didn't go down the drain in 1979 But doing a lovecraft/other pretentious narrative concept album is a terrible idea :)
