have you guys ever even been in a band?
have you guys ever even been in a band?
Being in a band is a whole lot easier than this though :v: So, my riff, how about we talk about that instead of shitting up this thread with drama?
Make something out of the riff. A tune on its own is pointless. Unless you want to be a pop star.
have you guys ever even been in a band?
I have, in fourth and fifth grade. I was one of the percussionists, and I had some solo parts(there were around five of us).
Make something out of the riff. A tune on its own is pointless. Unless you want to be a pop star.
Challenge accepted Ok it's not yet a tune of its own, it needs to be properly mixed and all that, but I think I got a framework for a song at least :v:
So are we dong insanity as the concept?
Damn, I thought my nostalgia idea would make it.
I'm submitting this song for this album Essentially the same song as posted before, but mixed properly. =)
I'm not quite sure how any of that has to do with insanity. Except from how the track fades out.
Early stages, you can hear by the way the notes aren't quite playing in rhythm :smug:
The topic is insanity?? So we're gonna have a load of bs 'experimental' tracks and fillers from Akayz and the rest will be ear-rapey dubstep... Can't we settle for something that has more room for different ideas to flow. Atm everything will either sound unhinged or totally insane. We need more variation than that.
Well nothing is settled since nobody is happy. I personally liked my "elements of life" idea. :)
How would fit in? I'd play everything though, real or VST.

That way there can be a progression from calm to turbulent to aftermath for example, so that people can produce different music that works in the context of the album. It wasn't just Insanity, the idea was descent into madness. And I hope there are no dubstep submissions, I don't see how dubstep has any place in a concept album
And I hope there are no dubstep submissions, I don't see how dubstep has any place in a concept album
Not all dubstep is the generic type. Think about that comment again.
And I hope there are no dubstep submissions, I don't see how dubstep has any place in a concept album
Not a huge fan of dubstep myself, but how do you know what can and cannot go into a concept album? I'm sure somebody out there has made a concept album entirely in the dubstep genre.
Terribly deeply sorry, what I had in mind when I said that was:
ear-rapey dubstep
[editline]30th November 2011[/editline] I realise I worded it like a sweeping statement, but I WAS replying to him, so..
If we do insanity, would a song where all the parts are out of tempo work?
We're doing descent to madness, it could possibly work but there has to be some order to the chaos still, otherwise it can easily just develop into something bad.
We're doing descent to madness, it could possibly work but there has to be some order to the chaos still, otherwise it can easily just develop into something bad.
Yeah, you already posted your "final" version of a song. I still don't get why it's supposed to be about insanity.
Well, you were the one saying it were about insanity and I answered with something you'd might have answered with, personally I think it fits the "descent into madness"-bill much better, either as a sort of filler-track or in the beginning.
I answered with something you'd might have answered with
No.
Maybe I should've added more :smug: then
why do you keep insulting? You talk so much about everyone else, yet you can't speak about your own music.
Well, what can I say about my music really? What do you want me to say about my music? Why is it necessary for me to talk about my own music? I'm confused.
Well, what can I say about my music really? What do you want me to say about my music? Why is it necessary for me to talk about my own music? I'm confused.
You really want me to find one of your "essay" reviews on a track? I'm just saying, you've been a bit vague that's all. No denying that.
What is happening right now. Its like Akayz is angry at Dick for not writing a review about his own track or something.
So uh, you want me to write a review of this track I've made? I'll write you a review of Cue Insanity and what emotions it stirs up in me When the song starts, I feel sort of a gloom happiness. Someone tries to hold something back, something dark, and for a lack of better words ; evil. He/she smiles, but the eyes are slowly dying, like stars in the sky. The seams are starting to rip from the cloth, and whatever is inside will soon show its true face. The person tries to fight it, to stay sane, to keep the darkness within. But it really isn't possible, the more he/she tries to fight it, the stronger it becomes. "I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!" The person screams as he/she falls down on his/her knees. Is it gone? Or is this just the beginning of something transforming within him/her?
What is happening right now. Its like Akayz is angry at Dick for not writing a review about his own track or something.
Still deciding concept + Not understanding what is "insane" about Dick's track.
Once again, the concept isn't insanity and hasn't been since the beginning of this concept album, and according to this the theme is "Descent Into Madness", and I think the song (at least for me) gets the mood of ' descent into madness' pretty well. [editline]30th November 2011[/editline] I still don't understand how I've been vague though, I made a song that I thought fit the current theme (descent into madness), if this is some gripe over something else then spit it out. Please tell me, how have I've been vague?
