I don't know if I should thank you or what
some other stuff I made up that is a bit less intense
warning: the second one gets super loud (the second part being all improvised)

Is it just me, or are those both awesome?
It reminds me of good noisy psych rock.
Second one needs a bit of distortion fixing.

Fair enough, with psychedelic rock it may seem weird and loud, but not liking ANY style of rock is an issue.
Maybe you're young, or whatever.. but there's literally thousands of albums that could spring your liking for it. Well worth it. Although going from ambient music only into hard hitting stuff, may be tricky.
Some people just don't like rock, the same way some people don't like electronic music.

but... there's elements in both that can easily be enjoyable. They just haven't put the effort into finding out what it's all about.
You know this to be true.

Well ofcourse, good music is always good music, but sometimes people just don't bother to look beyond their own borders, easier and more comfortable to just stick with what they know about. =)
To me, the collaborative albums have definietly opened up the eyes for me on the electronic genres, I've liked it before but the love just grew more intense after getting more exposure to the various subgenres.
So what the hell is the conceptttttt
let me just let inspiration hit
okay the concept is that the Wu Tang Clan created the universe as opposed to God or whatever, go from there
How about a concept where you get TRAPPED INSIDE A VIDEO GAME FROM YOUR CHILDHOOD OOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
A death-chiptune album? I'd download that.
A death-chiptune album? I'd download that.
If you make one, then I'd listen.
Concept needs to be voted.
I don't want any Wu Tang Clan or psycheledic rock shit though.
can we gather ideas and just do a quick vote on them and get it over with
possible themes: missing emotes :v:
water
bodily waste
travels to other countries

:wtc:?
whatever it is, we need a noise rock track in it
akayz just pick the most obviously well liked ideas out of the thread so far and have us vote on them
not liking ANY style of rock is an issue
I didn't say that at all

Well I'm not a hardcore fan. They're a respected group in the genre.
No genre restrictions was why I did the geno thing.
So is this happening or what?
So is this happening or what?
It is, but the ideas are in the OP need expanding.
The idea isn't "lovecraft whatever" it's a specific book I'm proposing
and can we vote on them now
lovecraft sucks x 2

Did I say Lovecraft was your idea?
I just said people thought his themes were interesting. What's yours?
no specific book
no books
NO
BOOKS
Seriously half of these ideas are the very reason why concept albums declined with prog rock, because often they were very pretentious and doing a lovecraft novel concept album is the very definition of failure to communicate something relevant to any audience
Even doing one about love would be better because at least people could relate to it (and dont say it'll be boring because everyone does love stuff, its about how you articulate it and thats why relationship songs are still popular), though I don't advocate doing one about love specifically.
Why not write an album in the vein of Arcade Fire's the Suburbs, and do it about growing up? Do songs about your experiences growing up - nostalgic things you used to do and how your world changed as you got older?

Animals was based on the theme from Animal Farm, doesn't mean you have to read the book to understand it.
I'm only talking about thematic things here.
I do like the growing up idea though.
Birth > A LOT of ideas here > Death
I see that idea developing.
if it's about nostalgia and childhood and all that there could be some interesting use of samples from your childhood, almost like how DJ Shadow crafted Endtroducing
After all I'm sure we'd all love to go back to when we were 8 when everything was easier.
nope when i was 8 everything was terrible
i wanna do something nostalgic about my life a year ago. that was a nice time.
Nostalgia in general then?
Sounds good.
