Why are so many unnecessary chemicals put into Cigarettes?

Is smoking 1-5 cigs a week (or every week or so) as risky as smoking packs every day?

I think smokers need to learn how to be polite and respectful of people that don't smoke. The government shouldn't be able to say where and when to smoke, but the individual should not be an ass to people that don't like smelling/breathing it. If you are going to smoke in public, at least be courteous enough to blow away from people, or smoke down wind from them. As for indoor smoking, it should be up to the business to decide, not a law.

I think non-smokers need to learn how to not be rude assholes who think they own everything around them.
You don't like that someone is smoking? Then move away from the person. They blowing smoke in your face? Tell them to fuck off and stop. Don't want to? Then shut up and stop crying about it.

What the fuck is your deal? I'm 99% on smoker's side. The way I see it, you use the basic etiquette rule; whoever will inconvenience more people, loses. So if 1 smoker is around 5 people that can't stand it, they either have to smoke somewhere else, or not smoke at all. The opposite is also true. I think smokers should at least be polite and ask the people around them if they mind if they light up. Most people wont care, but if more people do than don't expect everyone else to leave just to please you.
I don't smoke
My point is don't expect anyone to do anything for you. If you don't like something take responsibility and don't complain about it. That's all I'm saying.
To bulk it out, of course. You're just going to put in as much crap as you can to fill out the tobacco, so it's cheaper to make the cigs.
well its cause 400 doesnt quite have the same ring to it as saying 4000 CHEMICALS FTW.. and it wouldnt kill you fast enough :)
Their body, their rules.
I couldn't care less.

I totally agree with you. I always keep away from people when I'm smoking and waiting for a bus. I remember that when I was a kid I used to hate it (although that was mainly due to having asthma).
I think I read somewhere Japan has fairly courteous smokers, and they have 'smoking parks' people often use, so you don't risk annoying someone who'd rather not inhale it.
When i come to power I'm gonna triplicate the tobacco specific tax.
All the better to kill you with.

Smokers aren't going to quit. They'll just be 'wasting' more money.
That's just anti-smoking propaganda from tax payer money, the ammount of those chemicals are so small, and if they would put so much expensive chemicals in there they would pay more.
Yeah so it must be safe to smoke, right?
It's common knowledge they're unsafe.

Why?
What's your point?
believe it or not, despite what your health teacher tells you, cigs aren't totally made out of bad shit
as a matter of fact, some teachers will go as far as making stuff up (mine used to say that there are 20000 deadly chemicals in cigs, and 5000 of those are radioactive)

I love how they never say the benefits of smoking, it's social tool that is great on a night out, it wakes you up in the morning, relaxs you at work and for alot of people the smell of tobbaco is very relaxing.
And rollies are cheaper i'm spending £2.70 for 12.5 grams and 50 papers.
