A lot of "straight" people and straight people in my school do it too, but I think it's because the gay kids are friends with the "straight" kids who are friends with the straight kids so the straight kids do it to fit in with the "straight" kids who do it because they are "straight". Naturally, the straight kids don't know that the "straight" kids have quotation marks.
What
Can I be silent and not support gays
The thing I don't understand is, if homosexuals, minorities, and genders want to be equal, why should they get their own day, week, or month? That's not very equal.
This whole day of silence thing is retarded tbh, when i was in school kids would always do it. But no one gave a flying fuck, these people didn't talk so no one really thought anything about it. It is pointless, isn't the whole point of fighting for gay rights is to get it out there rather then hide it? (Don't ask don't tell type thing?). If you're gay your gay, no one gives a shit. Gays start getting trouble from people when they go around making a big deal about it. Hell half the people that are gay no one knows about because they don't let that DEFINE them. If you guys want to do something about it, figure something out that is more meaningful, i've seen this done in middle school and throughout high school and no one really cares.
No after centuries of homophobic people that condemned gays, it actually has become sort of a fad that being gay is cool. That's how the poser system works.
I'm almost certain he's talking about the "straight" kids being gay, because he says the straight kids don't know that the "straight" kids have quotation marks.
huh, I'm told that International Day Against Homophobia is May 17th.
I think it's pretty ridiculous. If any type of 'protest' would be going on, people should be voicing their beliefs instead of huddling up into little balls hoping people will notice the effort. And of course, all the kids in high school that wear ridiculous make up and put tape over their mouths, acting as flamboyant as they can. It's like a big attention contest. It's awful. The people who are for the equal rights thing are just making homosexuality more outlandish, and making it worse for themselves. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Day_Against_Homophobia [editline]10:39PM[/editline] I remember doing a day of silence for this once too: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transgender_Day_of_Remembrance
I only hate Adam Lambert type people. Way too glossy for me.
huh wtf automerge [editline]10:39PM[/editline] goddammit you homo :argh:
So the funniest thing about this to me is something my best friend told me. She made a good point, too. Forced to silence for centuries at fear of death or torture, and what helps the "cause" is talking about it. The symbolic day of silence is shutting up. She's a lesbian, by the way. I always preferred a April 26 day of silence, anyways, but nobody got it outside of a handful of people. If I was lucky.
I'm gonna do it. As I am bisexual and in the closet. It seems silly as I see no need to tell anyone but I can understand.
Our school had one of these for suicide prevention or something, i was walking down the hall and someone had drawn a person hanging themselves on the paper they passed out about it and stuck it on the wall with old chewing gum...i lol'd
Dressing up as Gordon Freeman tomorrow.
Already don-... :smug:
No after centuries of homophobic people that condemned gays, it actually has become sort of a fad that being gay is cool. That's how the poser system works.
Actually it's likely addressing both posing and being in the closet.
Already don-... :smug:
Gordon Freeman what are you doing?
Gordon Freeman what are you doing?
Hey give him some slack it's not tomorrow yet!
Someone I knew already agreed to be the loudest person in school.

A lot of my straight friends are doing this too, mostly girls. It's just support for gay marriage and stuff like that.
Yo silent people. I don't give a shit. :D
Do I get to stay home
I would do it. But, I'd constantly get teased for it, seeing how I get teased all the time about it all.
[img_thumb]I'm not gay, but it was too hard to resist[/img_thumb]
Gay people should be silent.
that is my birthday
I think this might be a good idea if it is successful. A lot of you are making fun of gays and joking around but under all that I hope you all think they should have equal rights as straight people.
Lol on the 16th (tommorow) theres no school for my district ,its a student holiday.

Oh you're different, not mainstream... Why should I care?
