Ponyfags got their panties in a bunch when Bill Clinton got interviewed and got asked questions about MLP. I mean the other answers in the quiz were fucking dumb. He had the choice between cutie mark, a title and the right to mate. Now this is obviously a little girl's show right? So he replied cutie mark and of course he got it right.
As obvious as the answers are to people who never seen the show or heard of it, It was still really funny to hear Bill Clinton answer questions about ponies.

Um what the actual fuck?
Will i like stuff to, but i don't become obsessed about it, change my avatar to a pony and shove it in other peoples faces.
Also, about this. Since when was having an avatar about something you like shoving it in other people's faces/proof that you're obsessed? I never got that.
You guys react less violently to goatse avatars for Christ's sake. But a tiny picture of a pastel pony apparently makes your skin melt off.
Wow, converting the hell? I'm ashamed to be in the same fanbase as those people. I mean what the fuck why would you want to force someone to become a fan? They act like everyone should watch the show.

Forcing people to like something just makes everything worse mostly.
People are free to like and dislike what ever they want to like.

For some reason the show seems to have a really strong effect on certain people, stronger than normal. Obsession with the show seems pretty normal in the fandom, but some go above and beyond, probably those who have never really been a huge fan of something before.
Naturally, having finally discovered something that makes them feel accepted into a community, they look to assimilate others so that they too may feel the same happiness. They think they're doing everyone a favor, but to the people around them it seems like they're mindlessly trying to convert everyone. It's perfectly natural to show friends and family things that you really enjoy, but when you ignore their requests to stop it gets unbearably annoying.
There's actually some list out there, the 5 stages of Brony conversion, that may help explain this phenomenon. IIRC, the stages are these:
1. Denial (Having just heard about the show and the fandom, going "wtf")
2. Anger (Getting annoyed at all the requests to watch a stupid girly show)
3. Bargaining (Giving in and watching the show)
4. Depression (Finding that you actually enjoy the show, and trying to convince yourself that you're not a Brony)
5. Acceptance (Embracing your newfound love for the show and going full Brony)
The thing is, this is actually pretty accurate for most people. I can think back going through each step of this shit, spending the most time on depression. Most people who weren't originally interested in giving it a try usually only give in after constant pestering from a member or members of the fandom, which is probably where the "conversion" mentality comes from. Those who have been converted themselves remember not wanting to watch the show, and only eventually doing so because of being begged or bothered to give a try. It's an infection really, Brony gets created, Brony wants to spread the love, Brony thinks that the only way to do this is pestering, process eventually works and new Brony has same mentality. And that's how Equestria was made.

I skipped step 1 and 2 and went straight to three because I was curious. No one pestered me about it. Also, I skipped 4 and went to 5... There must be something wrong with me.

Well it's no guarantee that you'll hit all 5 stages, it's just a guideline to show what typically happens really.

Oh so you take the, "Suffering the loss of a loved one", and come up with that? You can't just put in the MLP factor and somehow think it'll work. Because it doesn't. What you've stated is the common reaction to the loss of a loved one, which was written in most health books. Commonly about depression. BUT HEY.. Thanks. I love how your came up with that all on your own/sarcasm. But thanks for trying, its people like you whom I despise.

ITT: we overanalyze people who just giggle over the concept of telling people they watch a show for 8 year old girls
"Bronies" are probably one of the worst things that have happened to teens/young adults.Converting people, buying ponies and being a man-child.It's like they decided to stop at a certain point and not grow the fuck up.If anyone ever asks me "Why do you hate "Bronies"." I tell them "Because of weirdo's them that try to convert people and play with ponies like a fucking cult."

Gosh, why would you even care? Stop overreacting, it's not like they do anything that will make your life worse except if the internet is the only place you live for.

You sound just as childish as the people you hate.

Quite, bronie.
Ok guys, Im just going to speak, as a "brony" (as much as I, and many other MLP fans dislike that term due to the hate it gets) and as such I do get quite a bit of hate, and I can see the reasoning behind a lot of it. But I have to say the pony fans that "wont shut up about it" or try to force it on you, they dont represent the majority of us. We call them "mules" and they're the shame of the community because they generate hate by bringing ponies into EVERYTHING, even when ponies have nothing to do with the subject matter. Most of us keep to ourselves when it comes to ponies, we stick to our own forums to avoid drama, hell some of us even play in MLP game servers just to avoid bothering others and no we dont want to "convert" you. I mean even when the Facepunch "brony" community realized the drama we were causing, we agreed to close our threads and stop posting ponies here. I know Im probably going to be autoboxed for this, but all Im saying is don't hate all of us based on the actions of a few mules.
TL;DR
Not all MLP fans are like the annoying ones you guys have been describing.
Should I make a pony discussion thread in chat thread?
Should I make a pony discussion thread in chat thread?
No, its against the rules now. We used to have pony chat threads but they caused so much drama that we decided to stop making threads and stop posting ponies here. I believe you'd get banned for it.
People who claim they aren't interested in pony chat threads but go into them anyway and then complain that the pony threads are ruining their forum.
Seriously? That's kind of silly considering that we already pretty much banished all the bronies to chat threads. Now they can't even make a thread? I don't see what this bannable.
[editline]31st August 2011[/editline]
frowned upon, maybe, but let's face it, the show has ALWAYS been frowned upon. Who gives a shit?
Yeah its a shame. Its exiled a bunch of people, we've since launched our own forums though but again it sucks that it came to this. A lot of us feel like we've been banished or exiled and many feel unwelcomed here now.
Don't we have DRAGON PORN in General Discussion?
Why can't they have a fucking thread about a show in chat threads?
Yup, and we have a furry chat thread iirc. It sucks but not much we can do.
Ugh, I'm not even a fan of the show and that kind of makes me mad.
Honestly its nothing to get mad about. The community has moved on, I mean last time we spoke about it most of us didn't even want to come back. I mean like I said we have forums now so we'll be fine.

I don't think it's the topic which makes it bannable, it's the flaming/ravid fans that makes it bannable
I've seen enough from the votes and the Steam chat. I'm going to close this thread.
The majority of you seem to agree that there needs to be no MLP thread, at least until major information starts coming up about season 2. Single frames, little snippets, "things your friend heard" are not good enough to warrant a new thread.
Season 2 starts in near the end of the year, so I don't expect a lot of information to come up until autumn or winter months.
Closing the thread, there's more you can do on Facepunch, and you've all got Equestria Daily or Ponychan.
Sorry for jumping in again but this was "the" post for all to clarify why there's no MLP thread.

Its the drama that emerges from the slightest mention of it that makes it bannable.

The sad thing is season two starts next week but we're still not allowed to make a new thread.
ha! those videos where weird
the second (buy pony stuff) well what ever, their money right. that's one thing i wouldn't care about unless it was my own son
