In other words, you like anime but you haven't really watched much.
what do you mean?
I fucking hate anime, but I'm obsessed with Death Note. Is that a contradiction?
anime gay
what do you mean?
You stated you liked 4 completely different shows that were anime. If you like those I can guarantee you that you'll like an assload more shows.
But that's exactly what makes me like western cartoons better than anime. The high level of variety makes it great. You can have an awesome show that looks like this: [img_thumb]http://opinionsandexpressions.files.wordpress.com/2008/08/dexters-lab.gif[/img_thumb] Or an awesome comic which looks like this: [img_thumb]http://gaygamer.net/images/sin%20city%20ladies.jpg[/img_thumb]
But that's exactly what makes me like eastern cartoons better than cartoons. A lot of it is shit, so people assume all of it is.
You stated you liked 4 completely different shows that were anime. If you like those I can guarantee you that you'll like an assload more shows.
Any recommendations, just please no "Kawaii!!!" or anything with a mouth that looks like a w.

Why does anime try and make all of their characters white with rainbow hair instead of Asian with black hair?
Why does anime try and make all of their characters white with rainbow hair instead of Asian with black hair?
To add variety.
Any recommendations, just please no "Kawaii!!!" or anything with a mouth that looks like a w.
Cowboy Bebop. Ghost in the Shell. Black Lagoon. Mind Game. (movie) Baccano! Durarara!! Clannad. Darker than Black. Detroit Metal City.
Why does anime try and make all of their characters white with rainbow hair instead of Asian with black hair?
To make them look different. Also because it's cartoons, simple enough.
Why does anime try and make all of their characters white with rainbow hair instead of Asian with black hair?
To tell the difference between main characters and random background characters.
To tell the difference between main characters and random background characters.
So that makes them bad artists if they can't reconstruct new facial structures. They are also jealous.
So that makes them bad artists if they can't reconstruct new facial structures. They are also jealous.
wut, lern 2 grammar
So that makes them bad artists if they can't reconstruct new facial structures. They are also jealous.
It's not that they can't reconstruct. It's that they can't afford it. Japanese Animators “Earn $3/Hour” Cheap designs are affordable to animate. Also most animators are in their early twenties.
So that makes them bad artists if they can't reconstruct new facial structures. They are also jealous.
Oh, and theres a part where most anime takes place in some most of fantasy universe and the laws of anything don't really apply.
Akira is technically the only anime I enjoyed. A lot of it just seems too outlandish or over the top.
I've grown to dislike it because of the unoriginality. It's becoming extremely redundant. And now you have all these 14 year old girls trying to be "Kawaii" and they rip off the style without even attempting to create anything original. However, some anime movies like Paprika are just kick ass.
Akira is technically the only anime I enjoyed. A lot of it just seems too outlandish or over the top.
I never understood the fuss about Akira. It wasn't that great. It was better than a lot of stuff, but there are a lot of stuff even better than it. Take a look at Mind Game.
I've grown to dislike it because of the unoriginality. no watch boku no pico
It's no news that a vast majority of all anime is pretty uncreative and generic, with a lot of dumbed-down series being made in copious amounts to sate the hunger of equally dumb consumers. There are more shitty series than there are really decent ones. Most anime has a non-insignificant degree of sexualization, there's plenty of opportunity for those so inclined to develop obsessions with either series or characters and horrid fans/fandoms can be found all over the Internet. In the bigger picture, this is no different from western media. There is just as much dumb generic shit clogging up the media in the west. A majority of all shows you typically see are "meh" and you wouldn't watch them if you had other options. Just as with western media there is a broad variety in target groups of series, and obviously only a fraction of the offers could realistically be suited for you. As far as boring art style, sexualization and crappy overall quality goes, this is just as much of an issue in western media as anywhere. Many shows has identical drawing/animation style, some has crappy voice acting, and oh boy is western media sexualized. How many people do you think is spanking off to THIS or THIS? And for series being completely sex-oriented, I raise you THIS. The growing popularity of a certain part of foreign popular culture is bound to stir up resistance and fear, I just wish people weren't so damn ignorant/xenophobic about it. When it comes to my personal stance on this, I am no fan of anime, nor do I hate it. I just consider most of the popular anime series to be garbage (just like I consider many other popular shows garbage), and stick to the one or two I find decent (which happens to be short, finished works since overall quality of series often appears to decrease exponentially with its length).

hey, i am a good anime
Did the studio that did Elfen Lied do anything else? I really liked that series too.
Mostly just sexual stuff it seems. But Genshiken is a good show, though not one bit like Elfen Lied. I also liked I''S Pure back when I watched it. http://myanimelist.net/anime.php?p=38 Elfen Lied is just a manga adaption so it's really just about how they adapted it. The studio didn't actually come up with the story. And they actually did a bad job at it if you start looking at the show. The only good character is Lucy. Everyone else are pretty much retarded.
I do hate a lot of crap anime, but some shows are just awesome, like TTGL.

There is ^_^ and there anime that doesn't make me want to kill a kitten
They're SPACE cowboys (kind of like in Firefly) and their ship is called the Bebop. Name explained.
Plus the majority of the music is Bebop (Which is basically a style of Jazz.)
I do hate a lot of crap anime, but some shows are just awesome, like TTGL.
TTGL is one of the best shows to give to someone new to anime, and Berserk is probably the best series to give to someone new to manga. I've yet to see someone who approached these series with the proper mindset, end up dismissing them as they would for most other stuff.
