Well honestly I would rather talk about anime with the people who keep it a secret than the ones who talk about it in public. In my class there is usually that one kid who literally cannot shut up about anime or manga, I cannot stand talking about the same thing for 50 minutes. Another gripe about anime would be how the plot for most of them is the same and how some them lack any depth.

This... this shining example. This unquestionable truth. A post to hold above all other posts in this thread.
Through all the din of bias and rage, a bright beacon of logic has broken through.
Otaku... Oh god, the Otaku... :geno:
I agree with this. I like anime but seeing 30 year old men that live in thier parents basement dressed up like sailor moon walking around with those pillows that have half naked anime girls on them. :geno:

Not everything equally owns/sucks, anime has a higher ratio of suck to own
Do you realize how many books exist? I would think books have a higher ratio the anime.

So how many anime series have you seen then?
uguuuu! kawaii-tan i am so big-eyed nya, oni chan!~~~~~~~~ ^.^!
now look up my skirt-chan through kawaii camera angles, kawaii kin! hee hee! ^^^^.^
I have a friend who reads Lucky Star. I'm able to tolerate him since he doesn't talk about anime everyday.

nerds actually use it with pride because it's from japan

Who WHO could have ANY pride in being called that?
I don't like anime, and I'm ok with people who watch it, but the people who run around pretending they're in an anime cartoon are retarded.
Who WHO could have ANY pride in being called that?
well it's mostly the only pride they got left so it's not very much
Pretty sure it's because anime birthed most of those fucking weeaboos and otakus that are running around plaguing humanity.
Some is good, some is bad.
There was the anime lover clique in my school as well. I was sitting across the room in study hall one day and someone walked up to them and said "so i herd you guys can talk to dragons"

Are you sure that's the anime loving gang, not the furry obsessed gang?
Are you sure that's the anime loving gang, not the furry obsessed gang?
It could be both, I dunno. Yeah, it was both - one of the girls consistently dressed like a cat. I dunno, I played Yugioh with them a couple times and tried to screw one of them (their leader didn't allow mating outside of the clan).
I don't really hate anime except the retarded overhyped ones like Lucky Star. It's the obsessed anime fans that I hate, the ones that pretends that they're from Japan, use retarded Japanese language like KAWAIII HAWAII DESU~~~~~~", o use smileys like >.< or o.0 or ^_^, wear only Anime-related clothing, and has shitloads of anime groups in their profile, especially that dumb "Team Weeaboo" group. My god I can't stand those people. But I have nothing against the normal anime fans.
The only anime i've ever liked is Gundam. The rest is shit, to me.
itt a bunch of ignorant MORONS!!! if u want to judge animé by the stupid mainstream idiot crap they show on cartoon network (not counting naruto ofc) then ur a moron too!!! make a effort to watch some ACTUALLY GOOD ANIMÉ be4 you judge!!!
Too many generic plots and characters. Once in a while you'll find a lemon drop in the sea of piss, but only on very rare occasions.

The generic-ness is somewhat one of the reasons I personally like anime, though only in high action ones as I will never watch a drama anime again, ever.

Cards + video games =/= anime
And the people that claim to hate anime don't claim to hate all anime. That's a big difference. There's some good stuff out there, but it's negligible when it comes to the deciding factor of weather to consider anime an lovable genre or not.

Very good point. I myself have read several enjoyable series including FMA, Trigun, Black Cat.
Drama and romance are not most animes strong points. They usually follow a set of strict and predicable situations with dysfunctional relationships and frustrating plot twists.
If an manga is over 25 released books (in stores and such), I deem it as too long and a milkage.
Because kawaiiii stuff is not for grown up men.
Animé isn't a genre, it's barely even a style, it's just a stupid weabooism for animation.
It's é because you pronounce it "ani mey" not "ani mi"
I actually love the art style of anime, but for some reason, I can't stand the shows or manga. There are a few exceptions like FLCL and Cowboy Bebop, but I can't watch more than two or three episodes of most anime and I can't quite put my finger on the reason as to why.
Edit: Holy shit. It took me about two minutes to type this out, and in that time fifteen more posts popped up. Anime sure brings out a shitstorm in Facepunch.
