Bleach turned to shit after like half the show.
FMA is good tho
Agreed, it became shit after the first 60 episodes or so and I'm not just talking about the fillers, useless boring fights after fights, with childlish unfunny jokes in between.
Also, screw you guys who are insulting One Piece as that's the only mainstream shounen that's still worth watching.
To be honest, european animation is much better, france in particular.
One particular gem, belleville rendez vous, is definatly worth seeing. It has next to no dialouge, and the art style is brilliant. Its about a guy who gets kidnapped while taking part in the tour-de-france, and his grandmothers efforts to find him.

Also, that dog is the best cartoon animal ever. he gets used as a spare wheel at one point. I shit you not.
I don't really dig the caricature style.

Why are you representing Japan with a Neko/furry?
INCOMING WALL OF SHIT YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT:
I really didn't like anime at first.
I once downloaded some anime named "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" or something like that, and I watched all the episodes just to troll another facepuncher known as Paul-Simon.
Some time went by, and I forgot nearly everything I knew about anime, and I really didn't care much either. Everything was back to normal, the trolling was a succes (He was really dissapointed at me, and that was the point), so I just continued with my life. (Yet, I had a greater respect for the art-style now than I did before)
Then I started playing Touhou. As any normal fan of a game-series would do I started searching up fan-made content, and quickly realized that even though the games themselves weren't based around anime (Atleast not the Bullet-hell games), the fan-made stuff usually was (Not a big surprise, the game is japanese afterall). I then started getting more and more involved in the fandom, and meeting other Touhou-fans it ended up with me trying to watch an anime. I think the one I watched at first was Lucky Star. I watched the first and 50% of the second episode before I deleted the whole show. I hated it. (Fuck you guys, I just prefer a good story, or atleast some good comedy) I then tried to find one for myself, and ended up watching Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-Chan. This one I loved (It's like spongebob, except with more sexual jokes and unserious violence (Safe for kids to some degree)) I then realized anime really wasn't THAT bad. I then watched both Elfen Lied and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, and I loved them both. I also watched .hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet, because of some Let's Play I watched at the time, and I wanted to fully understand the story (It was a nice concept for an MMO, in my honest opinion)
At the moment I am watching the ongoing Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood series, and I really enjoy it.
I see no reason to hate anime, except the fans who make everything about their series seem godlike (Yes, I am talking to you Naruto/Lucky Star fans.)
If you want to change the way you look at anime too, just give it a chance.
IMO, Anime > Any kind of western Cartoon

That's exactly what I did yesterday. I saw this thread, and decided it was time for my bi-yearly "Give Anime a chance," and settled on the first episode of K-On.
I did not watch the second episode. I may check out Boku-something-or-another just because your tastes sound similar to mine.

My current favorite anime is Fairy Tail

Other favorites of mine are Naruto and One Piece

Why did you decide to watch K-ON?
It's just girls eating cake and talking about themselves. Go watch Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan, it's hilarious.
Then watch Great Teacher Onizuka. Just give it some episodes because the two first suck major ass and is nothing like the rest of the show. Nothing at all.

Because about a third of Facepunch has K-ON avatars (at least I think that's what they are.) My train of logic was, "Facepunch seems to like it, it must not be so bad."
I just recalled my logic being similar when I tried to watch Lucky Star.

No you get, have you ever seen it, to give such judgment?
Anyway, one piece went to shit after like ep100 too, then they just tried too hard to keep it alive by adding a fuckton of new stuff that felt rushed and stupid.

Lucky Star IS shit and bane of anime. It's like mainstream music, many listen to it, but it's still shit.
Initial D
A MAN'S anime (cars ftw). Sadly, the main character wins all but two races, which makes some of the races stagnant and dull, while most still maintain a decent amount of entertainment.

People that have anime avatars are usually the retards of the fanbase who oogle over series that just try to be cute or perverted.
You should also try Bakemonogatari.

You should see the first stage (they call each season a "stage") graphics :P
The Show started arround 1997-1999 and finished in 2005.
What's with the Lucky Star hate? It's hilarious.
What's with the Lucky Star hate? It's hilarious.
I can perfectly understand where it's coming from, its random and pointless, yet I still loved it for the plethora of show/game references, especially the Initial D and 24 ones.
You should also try Bakemonogatari.
A lot of people may not like it at first. I found the first two episode of Bakemongatari to be quite confusion, and the excessive effects gave me a headache
What's with the Lucky Star hate? It's hilarious.
It was funny, but I'd never watch it again.
I found with Bakemonogatari it took me like 5 episodes before I learned speed reading the little color flashes which had potentially huge amounts of text in like a second.

Everyone has slight tensions after this
Now the problem with this thread is the OP's favourite anime.
Fairy Tail, One Piece and Naruto?
Three of the shittiest anime shows I've ever watched all in one post.
Also I've still yet to see a good arguement against Anime so chop chop laddies.
You think One Piece is shitty? Did you only watch the 4kids version or something?
Or are you one of those idiots who bashes something without having ever seen it, because a lot of people assume One Piece is just Naruto with pirates.
Did you only watch the 4kids version or something?

Oh god the 4kids version, don't remind me.

Oh 4kids, you're so whacky!
I still want to know why they made that guy white.
I like anime because it has boobies.
The eyes are the most expressive part of the body, and with most art styles you sort of skew the perspective on things you want to draw attention to (If you play Team Fortress 2, look at the Heavy- Sasha is drastically larger than any other weapon because it plays a much larger role in Heavy's playstyle.)
If there's a multifaceted character, they usually have large eyes- if they only show up in one scene, have only one emotional trait, or are not seen a lot, they'll usually have beady, small eyes.
The eye issue, unraveled
I still want to know why they made that guy white.
As a black guy it's a racial caricature, as a white guy it's not.
I'm ok with anime but if you don't stop talking about it and it's all you talk about then I'm going to have a problem with you.
They cleaned him up
As a black guy it's a racial caricature, as a white guy it's not.
But isn't it racist to change him into a white guy?
