• Anime - Why do most people here hate it?
Few framed mouths is common. They don't have the budget to do it otherwise. But there are companies that are getting pretty good at avoiding it, like SHAFT who can often animate the whole jaw whilst talking. Nyeahhah. Really depends, but yes, they often stand still because there is no reason for them to move. But action being repeated? Can't say I've ever noticed that shit happening. Oh wow. You really haven't watched anything if that's all you've seen of action. One Piece is mainstream crap that they can't do for shit. You can't pick out a mass production product that has been going on for years and set it as an example of anime.
Actually, I think One Piece's lack of incredibly fluid animation has more to do with how they want to capture how the scenes are in the manga. When I watch it, I can immediately tell when they've basically taken a frame from the manga and added a little animation to it. They're getting better at animating, though. One Piece is pretty generic, but it and Dragon Ball are the only animes that have really done the shounen-style formula exceptionally well.
I can immediately tell when they've basically taken a frame from the manga and added a little animation to it.
Wut
nvm
There are some scenes in One Piece that are almost completely still aside from maybe a mouth moving or slight breathing or something like that. You can tell that they're basically directly copied from the manga. Calling it terrible for that reason is pretty silly, but I could understand why it might turn you off from it. You also have to consider that if they animated every frame so that the characters mouth perfectly matched up with the japanese voices, it would pose a problem for dubs, which is something that they can profit from.
Princess Mononoke was just another childrens movie just disguised as an teenagers/adults movie because "omg, it has the violence and blood".
Actually this is one reason I like animé, even kids movies are free to show what they want. No censorship machine strangling creativity until all you can make for kids is fucking Bob the Builder or something. Real stories, for kids. Or anything that's slightly out of line then becomes AO or whatnot. And kids movies are often better than so called "adult" ones anyway.
It's just fucking cartoons. Who gives a shit?
I just don't liek it, I prefer real over cartoons. I have nothing against anime. But, you do have a point, Pokemon is fricken amazing!
It's just fucking cartoons. Who gives a shit?
People capable of suspension of disbelief. "It's just fucking cartoons" isn't an argument.
People capable of suspension of disbelief. "It's just fucking cartoons" isn't an argument.
I think you misunderstood. What I meant to say is that it's fucking stupid to argue about cartoons. You could just shut your mouth if you like anime or don't like anime. No one cares if you do or don't.
Then follow your own advice and shut your mouth. "Cartoons" aren't somehow less valid a form of entertainment.
Then follow your own advice and shut your mouth. "Cartoons" aren't somehow less valid a form of entertainment.
I didn't say they were. I would have the same reaction if someone said that all Polish movies were better than American movie or that saying that you only like American movies and anything else is shit. It's a stupid fucking subject for an argument.
I have only seen glimpses of the picture/comic book things and most of the words were sound effects "WHOOSH" "GNGNGNGN" "SHUCKUT" and other words that do not sound like anything I have heard of. That is why I hate it, and the eyes also irritate me.
They even translate the sound effects at all?
Also all the weeaboo chicks I know are ugly but have massive tits. They see themselves in the anime : It's ugly but it has massive tits lol
Then follow your own advice and shut your mouth. "Cartoons" aren't somehow less valid a form of entertainment.
Holy shit stop getting so agressive
Holy shit stop getting so agressive
We said his anime wasn't good and now he's vewy angwy
Seems like most if not all anime have budget problems then. Again, I'm not saying One Piece is every other anime. I was just giving an example.
About 70-80% of the studios have big budget problems. The rest have decent to good budgets. The biggest reason for bad budgets is because they just lean onto making the same shitty shows over and over though instead of daring to do something different. Can't completely blame them, it's business, if you're full of shit up to your neck you wouldn't want to take the risk of taking a bucket of shit on top of your head even though it could (in some magical way) get you out of it. But it's a bad example since it's a mass production show instead of a normal 13 or 26 episode show.
Actually, I think One Piece's lack of incredibly fluid animation has more to do with how they want to capture how the scenes are in the manga. If they couldn't do that they would be a bunch of retards. But I understand what you mean, wanting to create the same look and let you actually look at it, right? That's also just an excuse. Doesn't change the fact that Dragon Ball/Dragonballs/Dragonballz sucks and that One Piece is just too damn long filled with the exact same shit for any sane person to watch.
Actually this is one reason I like animé, even kids movies are free to show what they want. But Princess Mononoke isn't actually meant to be a childrens movie. It just is because Miyazaki doesn't know how to make anything else but childrens movies with lots of goo/slime and creatures.
It's just fucking cartoons. Who gives a shit?
It's just fucking books. Who gives a shit? It's just fucking movies. Who gives a shit? It's just fucking TV shows. Who gives a shit? It's just fucking newspapers. Who gives a shit? Cartoons in the east and cartoons in the west are two different things. The western society hardly looks at cartoons as a medium for anyone but children, and they have to be entertaining and fun. The stereotypical western at least. The eastern society have a higher understanding (though, not a complete one at all) that it is a medium that can also be targeted at teenagers, and even adults (but adults are not much of an interest). Cartoons is just yet another medium in which you can express yourself in. Tell stories. Educate. Etc etc.
Holy shit, 3 days of ban for posting in a stupid ban-me and I am back :iia: And I'm surprised this thread is still alive :v: I browsed the forum as guest and read every comment here
I dunno what's old or new but i love the eyes in Naruto and One Piece, while i HATE the eyes used in Inu Yasha etc.
They censor sexual content. But other than that, yeah. But Princess Mononoke isn't actually meant to be a childrens movie.
They even translate the sound effects at all?
I saw one sound effect that had the original characters still there but in brackets it was translated, it was "The sound of bones" Do bones even make a sound?
I distinctly recall exposed boobies in Ranma.
Since when was Ranma for children?
My username means "I am L/My name is L"
You are the reason I don't like anime, you center everything around it.
If it's true that 80/90 percent of anime has budget problems and looks shitty, then it is only that 80/90 percent that was ever broadcasted in my country. So I guess I don't hate anime, only shitty anime and I've never seen any that was good. (and I don't want to search for good anime on the internet, the "first impression" was personally bad enough for me to avoid the genre) Also, since I just don't deal with anime (it's not that intrusive, just change the channel or some shit), it make it more annoying when I absolutly have to. I'm talking about annoying anime fanboys, I hate those guys.
Since when was Ranma for children?
Since it was published in Shōnen Sunday and thematically targets teenagers in high school. Okay maybe not "children" per say, but not exactly adult entertainment.
I like Japan Because of Japanese katana swords and their technology is awesome. Not because of anime
mama please tell me this boy is joking
mama please tell me this boy is joking
panty vending machines are awesome
I distinctly recall exposed boobies in Ranma.
Since when was boobs sexual content? They're usually fine with boobs. It's vaginas and penises that are a problem. Which is why tentacle porn exists in the first place.
If it's true that 80/90 percent of anime has budget problems and looks shitty, then it is only that 80/90 percent that was ever broadcasted in my country. Import of anime is more or less just for the mainstream popular shows, which in any form of entertainment isn't the good stuff. And 80/90 percent is a lot. Hmmm. So you've watched Cowboy Bebop? Also anime isn't a genre, at all. It's eastern animation, that's all. Everybody hates those people.
Since it was published in Shōnen Sunday and thematically targets teenagers in high school. Also teenagers and children are the only people anime aims towards. They don't specifically make anime targeted at adults.
Hmmm. So you've watched Cowboy Bebop? Also anime isn't a genre, at all. It's eastern animation, that's all.
I agree with this part. Anime is short for animation anyway, although the shortened word has been associated more with the Japanese (and occasionally Chinese) style of drawing in general.
Everybody hates those people.
I disagree with this part. That's just douchery. :|
