Maybe it happens that the socially inept people watch anime, not that it causes them to be socially inept in the first place. It's like that study that made a connection between being a Star Trek fan and being a paedophile, just because there's a statistical relation doesn't mean one causes the other.
i hate stupid anime like ONE PIECE
I don't mind anime, but it isn't my favorite. To date, I've only seen three that I liked. I like it when it takes a more realistic art style and doesn't go for the "cute" stuff; disproportionately huge eyes and heads, :3 faces, stuff like that. It's just different than what most of us are used to, and I accept it. Another prerequisite of me liking it is good voice actors. I hate bad dubs, but too do I hate everyone having ridiculously high-pitched voices.
So what's your opinion?
My opinion is that when I try to watch an anime I just feel ashamed. I try to watch it through but it's just so god damm pathetic that I just cringe and can't watch. It feels like I'm dirty or something. I'm serious. The only anime I have actually read or watched was One Piece. I only watched episode 1-10 or something. That is my opinion, thank you and good night.
Manga > Anime [editline]03:14PM[/editline] simple
what
Don't say "what"! Say anything other than "what"! "What" makes it worse!
Don't say "what"! Say anything other than "what"! "What" makes it worse!
What. Why?

It's a scifi/horror-ish movie with awesome animation (and realistic art, not cutesy). It's part of a trilogy called Memories, this is the best movie in the bunch. It aired on the Finnish TV some time ago.
I like certain anime based on the plot, but I also like anime that makes me smile and grabs my interest.
Watch slice of life anime it is the best its realistic!
Watch slice of life anime it is the best its realistic!
agree
I like certain anime based on the plot, but I also like anime that makes me smile and grabs my interest.
Oh so you too like anime as long as it's fun to watch..
Oh so you too like anime as long as it's fun to watch..
Sounds like a majority of people that watch things
Oh so you too like anime as long as it's fun to watch..
What a glorious flash of insight.
That desu shit is the anime version of vietnam....
Oh so you too like anime as long as it's fun to watch..
Mhm. I also only prefer japanese versions instead of dubs. I really dislike dubs.
Most people hate it because of a bandwagon effect. Making wild assumptions and generalizations just because a product comes from somewhere at all. In the case of anime, I could name a few anime series that break the "standard" the haters would say every single show follows. But it's not exclusive to anime. In American politics, wouldn't you say the Tea Party movement was a bandwagon by this point? Or how about the Birthers who consistently deny President Obama's citizenship is legit? Hell, by this you could even say that religion-based hate is a gigantic bandwagon.
Because most animes are childish or give an extremely poor showing of animes. An example of why anime gets a bad rap.
That bad rap is just only a parody. Nothing bad with it. If you think most anime are childish you could be wrong. There are a lot of anime for adults and also badass like Afro Samurai. There are animes for every age and every theme. Probably some of them might be bad but anyway the main part is the story they tell.
Anime is just slow moving stories/flashbacks. Gets boring, but then finally gets better when the fighting, etc things come in, bouncing boobs effect lol. Then slows down again.
Most people hate it because of a bandwagon effect.
Its other way around
Better example. No gay pop music, blood, some well choreographed fighting. No desu shit, and no 12 year olds. Sorry for backwards subs. Grab the episode off Dattebayo.com if you care that much.
Retarded costumes. Lame fight sequences. Laughable acting. Can't understand Japanese but it's probably badly written too.
Epic Tier anime. No bullshit, and even ties some ancient history in. Meiji Era Japan, with lots of heavy themes and violence. Fights are well choreo-graphed. You may not like music but it shows off the OVA greatly.
Violence porn. Disgusting. And yet they still have spiky purple hair. What gives? Violence and blood doesn't make entertainment mature, you know.
Amazing movie.
Confusing trailer is confusing.
agree
nice catch
Confusing trailer is confusing.
Synopsis:
Jin-Roh is an animated film which grew from a story and script by Mamoru Oshii, one of the leading creative artists of Japanese animation. However, director Hiroyuki Okiura deviated from the genre norms in focusing on the humanization of a macho killer. The action takes place in the Japan of the mid-fifties. Ten years after World War II, the country is in a state of strife. Emergency measures to boost Japan's economy have created some disturbing social problems. In Tokyo, special units of an elite police force known as the Metro Police are engaged in a bitter struggle with armed anti-government guerrillas. Any act of violence is reciprocated with more violence. Police officer Kazuki Fushe is a member of one such special unit, known among guerrillas as "Cerberus" and particularly feared for their striking power. Fushe's assignment is to crush the members of a guerrilla group known as "The Sect." During one of his rounds, Fushe meets a young woman on a kamikaze mission who has already activated the bomb she is wearing. Following her death, he can't get her image out of his mind and begins to visit her grave, where he meets another woman who looks like her. She is the sister of the dead girl and has her own reasons for getting closer to Fushe. The plot of the film is very complex, involving several ambiguities which are disquieting at the outset. But gradually, the vision of the director comes through, offering food for thought even in the most violent scenes. Jin-Roh was screened as part of the Panorama section of the 49th International Berlin Film Festival, 1999. ~ Gönül Dönmez-Colin, All Movie Guide
It's hard to say much about the film without giving it away. [editline]06:53PM[/editline] If you're wondering about the Little Red Riding Hood references:
The 1999 Japanese animated film Jin-Roh (also known as Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade), about a secret society within an anti-terrorist unit of an alternative post-World War II Japan, makes several literary and visual references to the German oral version of the story (most notably a Rotkäppchen book offered to the main character by one of the female bomb couriers), which is closer to the Perrault version, than the tale of Grimm, with an anti-terrorist commando as the wolf (the title is literally "Man-wolf" in Japanese"), and a former terrorist courier as the young lady.
Alright, people just really like to jump on a bandwagon and go "hurrrr animu sux" but being unable to descripte what they actually hate about it. I'm going to sum it up whats so irritating and makes you go "AREASAFAEFGRG" This is how things are in anime: -People gasps, grunts, and moans (especially the kids) ALWAYS when they run -Everytime someone does something, ah, so "dramatical" or "radical". This person's friend or relative says their name, and usually repeat it every 5 second. And starts their every sentence first with saying the persons name for the whole duration of that dramatic moment. -The "ehehehe~ ^_^" moments, hate them. -Everyone, every single person, after hearing someone say something dramatical, grunts, moans, and sometimes gasps, and says that persons name for no apparent reason. -The eyes, look at them, they churr on dramatic close-ups on action, drama, or other scenes and moments. Have they installed vibrators on their eyes? -There's always this one super-innconent, so cute that its scary, nice girl whose voice is pure helium, and practically is the whole anime's concentration of all cuteness they have. -In reality sisters and brothers use their actual names, not talk like "hey brother-san can you give me dat sugar? ^_^" all the fucking time. This is the major irritationg for some people in animu, I don't know is this just Japanese culture or something, but I doupt it. -DRAMATIC POSES! -LOUD AND EPIC PHRASES -SPECIAL EFFECTS TO SUPPORT THE POINT NO MATTER HOW BALLS-TO-THE WALL RETARTED IT IS -THE POWER OF WILL SOLVES EVERYTHING, NO EXCEPTIONS -One single gay person to represent the gays for no reason at all Rate agree if you found your reason to hate in this list
