Anime - Why do most people here hate it? - General

I think that's just the jap way of saying bro and sis. But eh, what do I know? I guess there's a big culture for adress over there, they have all those titles and all.

Although nearly all of those are just normal accepted things of manga/anime. For me personally, what I can not stand at all is when something is serious/semi-serious and they do some stupid "funny". Most commonly the "idiot" character being punched or something by being...an idiot, often accompanied by people doing stupid ass expressions on their face. And is the main reason the only things I can really stand to re-watch/re-read are the more adult based animes/manga, they are still there sometimes, but it's nowhere near the amount of other more kid based ones. Honestly, I can forgive nearly all the other faults, it's this one that irritates me the most, it's jarring. Like watching a live action movie and every few minutes it switches to teletubbies for 5 seconds. How the hell I got through Naruto (because I figured reading the entire 495 chapters (so far, good lord) in a single day (which if I remember correctly comes out to somewhere in the 8500 page range) and then watching the anime for shits and giggles afterwards would be a good idea) is beyond my ability to explain at this time. I don't even read manga and haven't followed anime since Samurai Champloo, so why the hell I decided to start with Naruto is simply beyond me. I suppose this is what boredom can do to people. /sigh, I miss the days of Cowboy Bebop.

It's usually the ones that hardly have any of it that are actually deemed good.

Um....I gave up on all TV. I actually used to love anime till that led to a deep...dark...hole..I had crawl out of. I'm not falling back in, so I'll stay ubsessed with Gordon Freeman and deal with the fact that I now see G-man by corners every now and again...meaning I drove myself crazy. The only side effect of escaping is...I like..Asian chicks... PS-I was in Japan for two weeks last summer. Once you get past the anime, JAPAN IS AWESOME...but so is England and Germany.

I'm actually curious, what do they have in Japan besides copious amounts of crazy?

I fucking hate "cute" anime with a passion. That shit is not cute. It's fucking fan service for pedophiles. "Cute" is an attribute that can be applied to well written characters, and it has nothing to do with recycled facial expressions. However, there is some anime that isn't shit, and knows how to tell a story, and is actually trying to fucking accomplish something. It's just a matter of sifting through the vapid, depressing, recycled schlock that most "otakus" jerk off to.
