i dont like anime because it is paedophilic
No.
also wtf just look at that it's just fucked up
I started watching Full Metal Alchemist and it was pretty fucking rad. So when it ended, I said "bollocks I have to find something else to watch". Tried a lot of other animes but I ended up watching Naruto. So everything went tip-top, got to Shippuden, watched 30 episodes and BAM. I can't just stand seeing his face anymore. And I can't just see any other animes again (not even that new FMA), so the only relations I have with animes are those of parodies and other stuff.
Legendz is the best anime
There are plenty of major differences between EE&E and Disney animations, like line quality, character proportion, use of color, movement, rendering, timing, etc. Your two animes are not substantially different in most of those areas. Characters are proportioned similarly, line quality is the same, the way the characters move and deform is similar, and so on. The rendering is the most significant difference, and even that's not huge--they still have the inverted-house heads, banana-spiked purple hair (even if it flops around in the pedo show), this that and the third. And that's just the visuals.
Ahaha. This is just a hilarious read. Characters may be proportionated similarily because most anime do focus on being anatomically right with exception of the content on the face. But comparing the line quality of Pokemon to the line quality of TMoHS is like comparing pudding to rock. With move, do you mean actual bone movement and such? Or animation? because the animation is completely different and a ton much better in TMoSH, as for actual bone movements, they're both humans, what can I say, they move like humans. I don't really see a problem with their head shapes other than having really tucked in lower half. How is the spike resembling flocks of hairs worse than coloured sky blobs on peoples heads? If you want something to watch at, take this and skip to 4:50 (nothing really happens before that) It's the last episode. I can't see how you can compare any of that to Pokemon in animation nor visual looks.
On the other hand...Pokemon has dimwitted, memetic writing and ridiculous voice acting. Haruhi has dimwitted, memetic writing and ridiculous voice acting. And pretty predictably so--all the anime tropes of creepy gasps and moans indicating emotion, faux-cutesy shit, etc comprise the majority of this stuff.
What do you define as ridicilous voice acting by the way? Kyon is very natural and sounds good whilst Haruhi... is a bitch. Mikuru... Is Mikuru and I'll leave it at that.
I will say that I do like Pokemon, because it doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is--a stupid, cornball cartoon aimed to get kids to buy shit. It's got an intelligent self-awareness that seems lacking in the so-called "good" animes that otaku kids put forward of examples of how awesome anime is.
You should really watch Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann then. It's a big parody of mecha shows and 80's show in general with their "Love can overwin anything" and super buildups, super powers and screams. It's to be taken lightly serious but it's generally just a big bottle of testosterones and parody. If you want something more serious then I think shows like Ghost in the Shell and Bakemonogatari is for you. Seen from the writing perspective. Bakemonogatari will probably set you off because of the characters, but the talking is Quentin Tarantino like. Though not as good of course. GitS has a women dressed oddly for fanservice but they're not putting it up in your face nor makes it into a big deal in any way. It is joked with in a natural way maybe two times, and then it has nothing to do with her breasts or anything, just clothing.
I didn't talk about the writing, but I will then, Pokémon is beyond retarded I think we can agree. But honestly, Haruhi is by no means dimwitted, nor memetic. In fact I'd venture that it is extraordinarily good, I'd put it alongside the better Star Trek writing, and perhaps some of the Kubrick stuff. Whoever this Nagaru Tanigawa person is, he is obviously a smart fellow. The mere fact that this is popular gives me a glimmer of hope in the world that people are not all a bunch of drooling idiots.
Extraordinarily good? Ehh... I'll forgive you since your new to anime. People that are new to anime and like it tend to go hardcore into the "love makes blind" thing. I was there once myself, so yeah. But it's good, I'm not denying that. The reason it is popular is because Haruhi is a God, Nagato is a silent bookworm that people can fantazise all they want about whilst she only blushes and makes no sound. Mikuru is fanservice person in there just for the boobs (which Haruhi herself states the first time we see her). It's not popular becuase it's a good show. It's popular because it has characters that can easily be fapped over. Also most people that watch it watch it when they are new to anime and thus doesn't have a very critical eye at any anime show at all. Just look at Elfen Lied. I cried when I first watched it. I know if I watched it now without ever having seen it before I'd rate it and like it way less because the art isn't all that good, the animation is filled with flaws and the only character that is any good is Lucy, everyone else are dense dumbshits.
The best Animes are the poorly dubbed ones because then it becomes like a surrealist comedy rather than some poorly written show. Example, Angel Cop
Cromartie High School. Even though I didn't find it as hilarious as most people made it be. Kinda lost the "so bad dub it's funny" effect after 10-13 episodes. But it was funny.
Haha did you just compare star trek and Stan Kubrick to some soft core porn marketed at 18-30 year old men?
Way to trash talk about something just because you don't like the whole concept it spawns from.
I'm not talking about the song I can tell what anime genre it is by the style and the women, its just another women-objectifying, superficial, poorly written cash cow show to come out of the Japanese industry.
Nope.
I've been shown an Anime which I really like called Angel Beats and some people may find it generic but the first 3 episodes are fucking awesome because the place is like Valhalla. Eat, Fuck, Kill, repeat.
Ahahahahahhaha. Oh my fucking god. Angel Beats is fucking horrible.
There's a lot of badly-written Western stuff, but most anime is an order of magnitude worse. It's like comparing a burglar to Osama bin Laden.
I don't really see how Western stuff is written better at all. [editline]01:28AM[/editline]
Legendz is the best anime
So that's where the fucking dargon is from.
When I see shit like "code yoko", even if its drawn for children. I just have this horrible urge to walk up to the plot writes, slap them in the face, and yell "WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?"
If you want something to watch at, take this and skip to 4:50 (nothing really happens before that) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7F0eiLvoWrc
Oh yeah just go right ahead and link to the fucking ending, bravo.
Oh yeah just go right ahead and link to the fucking ending, bravo.
Yes. You got a problem with that? TH89 has no plans whatsoever to watch it.
When I see shit like "code yoko", even if its drawn for children. I just have this horrible urge to walk up to the plot writes, slap them in the face, and yell "WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?"
Erm, that's a french show. Not from japan at all.
Ahahahahahhaha. Oh my fucking god. Angel Beats is fucking horrible.
It's awesome for the Valhalla aspect, nothing else...
It's awesome for the Valhalla aspect, nothing else...
But that's not awesome either. It's just standard slaptstick anime humor where they beat eachother to death at the dumbest things, or are exposed to immense beatings from objects. Just that they actually die instead of just getting some boo boos on their body. It has a good plot though, I'll give it that. But it's horribly executed in every fucking way possible.

Yeah, yeah it is. Never seen it myself, but it's always fun to recommend it to people.
Hell if i know. I thought they were girls and then i realised it's guys kissing, holy shit "flatline"
Some people like traps, doubt it will matter much, but that anime is porn. :v: All the scenes in that video are probably all of the remotely "sfw" there is.
I hate my life for seing this you know, I felt so bad and... ashamed.
Glad to be of service.
I hate my life for seing this you know, I felt so bad and... ashamed.
That's just a sign that deep down inside you resides a homosexual man that loves the stuff.

I'm not sure where you are going unless animé is allround brilliant and exceptional (which I gather so far, like so many other things it definitely is not.) This is something that, to me, stands pretty well above the average bullshit of pretty much everything. Certainly not just animé. And don't mistaken my praises for one show for blind love. I have a history of loathing for the usual Dragonball-ish bullshit.
Oh look, it's this thread again.
Considering the length of this thing I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same thread. :v:

It's almost like listening to myself from the past. Word for word. Reposting because it's relevant.
TmoSH was good but it wasn't great.
My past and nostalgia disagrees. My current state doesn't know. Oh the horror of being bound to past experiences.
Yeah yeah alien is interesting, different is wonderful. In the end, Haruhi is a good show and that won't change even after the rosey tint goes away. And it won't make Dragonball and Naruto any better.
And it won't make Dragonball and Naruto any better.
Nobody said that either. They'll only get shittier because they are horrible shows and always have been and always will be. Saying you dislike mecha, Dragonballz, Sailor Moon, Bleach, Naruto and One Piece. Point out Lucky Star as bad anime. Point out Elfen Lied as mature anime, point out TMoSH as good anime and similar things is all just as mainstream as a kid saying vegetables tastes bad, or that candy tastes good. Mentioning any of these shows really holds no value in an argument. And believe me, I've mentioned them a lot myself. They're usually the basics you just lay out automatically on reflex just to have said them to avoid any missunderstandings there. That's how mainstream they are.
My past and nostalgia disagrees. My current state doesn't know. Oh the horror of being bound to past experiences.
Well it was really good from what I remember I watched it 3 times in chronological order lol actually well it was pretty great from what I remember but I don't remember that well so I'm only saying it's good.
That is blind love There is no mistaking it. TmoSH was good but it wasn't great.
Are you kidding? It makes a mockery of everything from literature to the shitty animé stereotypes to the very foundation of fiction itself all the while playing the tropes that make it popular straight enough to mock the people who like it for it. It is philosophically interesting and inspiring all the while remaining largely ambiguous as to whether it is a work of genius or a completely unlikely coincidence of just the right amounts of idiocy. And it shows great narrative competence and great production values at the same time. Rarely have I encountered fiction that feels so relevant and makes me think so much. That is extraordinary to me. In fact I think the last thing that teased my mind so was a little unknown thing called Halo 3. And just look at the lulz it produced, too: http://encyclopediadramatica.com/The_Melancholy_of_Haruhi_Suzumiya (It is of course entirely possible that I am simply reading waaaaayyyyy too deep into it, but eh, whatever)
I saw the first series awhile ago and it was okay, it didn't stand out as anything particularly interesting. The second series made me want to vomit out my intestines.
