You know, right now my only wish is Facepunch neutrality towards anime. I wish I could post a anime-pic somewhere without being box'd to death, yet, not be voted polite/nice/friendly or anything like that. I wish you guys could judge anime pics just like you judge other pics. [sp]By it's contents and overall meaning[/sp]
Being Facepunch i highly doubt that.
Got 168 dumbs and a 5 page shit storm because of one anime picture.
Being Facepunch i highly doubt that.

And it actually started some sick chain of events that got us both banned :v:
And yes, I doubt it too, that's why it's a wish, not a goal
-snip-
It mocks it in a way that also makes it use it seriously to attract viewers. It's more of a "We need this shit, but we know it's shit. How do we use it whilst making it obvious that we know it is shit?"
Philosophically interesting and inspiring in what way? And you'll probably think a lot in the first 10-20 show you're watching, then you notice that they just beat the same dead horse story and philosophy in pretty much every show.
As I said it seems to question the very foundation of fiction within the framework of a fictional metareality that really could be seen as the manifestation of the authors mind. In other words, if the whole thing is to be taken as a dream, surely Nagaru Tanigawa is the dreamer. Similar in a way I suppose to 1/0, but significantly more ambiguous and complex. It also acknowledges nihilism in the youth of the modern world but instead of a cause of depression proposes it as an inspiration for action. It explores the principles of luck and plays out extremes of personality in an interesting arena. There's a lot to think about and I really like that.
And yeah, it's clear that they use the tropes to their advantage in terms of sales. I think that's part of the genius really. What worth is your story if nobody hears it? And it can also make you wonder sometimes if they really just are a bunch of raving idiots who happened to concoct something seemingly interesting rather than genuinely good. Again, I like that.

Just finished watching this. Easily one of the funniest anime I've seen.
The live-action movie was good too. I was surprised they were able to get Gene Simmons to play a role.

Manga.

What are you getting at?
Manga.
w/e, it's still pretty hard for me to imagine a GOOD live-action anime, because of physics or some crap like that :frogdowns:

The trailer itself looks Unbelievably epic.
Strange, you haven't started talking about diapers yet.

...huh?
If you've seen the show, you'd know it's not completely unrealistic garbage. It's just about a kid who wants to be a pop artist, but ends up in a death metal band. It works very well as a movie.

It's great, although the anime is fairly short. (12 13-minute long episodes)
But pretty much every episode has had me in tears.

Sure it does :buddy:

Don't be such a twat. You can't have an opinion about the movie unless you've seen it.
Have some reviews:

Actually I can have an opinion about a movie I haven't watched.
Not a valid opinion though, but still an opinion
[editline]o[/editline]
I liked how it was shortened to "DMC", concidering how they both have the same music-genre. But that's just me being silly

You're saying a movie can't work without having ever seen the movie.
Where's the logic in that?

I never said it wouldn't work. I just said I found it hard to imagine something like that.
I kinda want to vote you bad reading now, but I probably wasn't clear enough when I wrote it
I never said it wouldn't work. I just said I found it hard to imagine something like that.
And then you stuck your fingers in your ears, and was all "la la la won't work".
I don't mean to be a dick or anything, but you could like... at least try to take my word for it, and accept the reviews.
What that wasn't had been is true, though it's not rectifiable. Does the point of anime have to be at the end or more towards the lighter side of the journey? Answers may vary, but what is left will forever impact the opinions of the masses. It is for them to have and for anime to form what must have taken time and effort to come to all the conclusions. And to this much is anime able to be confounded, no?

Please quote the post where I denied the movie possibly being good.
Because I can't find it.
Also, I didn't say "la la la won't work", I actually never said it wouldn't work
You are obviously not reading my posts, and that makes it hard for me to communicate with you

Either that post was nonsense or I'm just not smart enough to understand it.
What does: "What that wasn't had been is true, though it's not rectifiable." mean? More specifically the "What that wasn't had been is true" part

That's a post where I agreed with you.
What makes you think I was using sarcasm?
Did you even notice the :buddy:?

How is that not sarcasm?
There's no way I can read that as something serious... I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Well, since sarcasm is so hard to make understandable with text I would probably put in a little /sarcasm in spoiler-tags if I was sarcastic
On the contrary; has anyone thinked how many hours the artist spends time on drawing and smoothing those boobs on those millions of animes and mangas?
I wonder do they have 24/7 hardon
They don't get paid much for animating, but they spend ages animating it.

It really doesn't take that long to draw the average pair of tits
I can draw 12 pairs in just over two minutes if I completely disregard everything above the shoulders and below the belly button
