That is some tidy work! Nice job. Are you going to be adding those kind of overlapping panels on the outside of the wall? I'm sure whatever you do it would look excellent. I really love it!
ill tell you what i renovate buildings and consider myself a great carpenter, i wont lie you seemed to have made life hard for yourself at the start by not having the wood cut before attaching it to your project but thats a fantastic design there and i think it will look fantastic, just remember the paint job at the end should take as much effort as the construction
How much did your wood cost, TRA?
Your coop looks fantastic so far. REALLY well built. Could probably withstand a hurricane! :)
What are you going to do for the roof?
I like coops that use fiberglass/polycarbonate sheeting for the roof so it lets in some light, but you have pretty big windows so you probably don't need that.
I went to the lumber yard to price out the wood for my coop over the weekend, and it was over $500!!! (Mostly because of redwood fence slats.)
I need to re-work my plans to use cheaper wood, because that is too damn expensive.

So far the total project is in the ~$350 range, this includes all materials but the lumber is the bulk of the expenses. For roofing, we are probably going to go with Ondura roofing panels, since they're not too expensive and they seem like a really good material. They also have translucent panels like you described for use as a sort of skylight, which I am considering.
Looks like a good choice for the roofing.
The plans I have call for SunTuf polycarbonate panels, but we are still pricing out alternatives.
Might go with corrugated fiberglass since it's cheaper and the weather here is very mild.

I am working on my chicken coop kits now, and as an experiment I plan on using a solar soda can heater (for day heat..I know summer isn't the best time to test this, but maybe can have the kinks worked out by winter.
Reading this has made me nostalgic. I love keeping poultry, at my best I had a flock of 60-80 chickens (Mostly Rhode island reds, Brahmas, and Domineckers) plus a few ducks and guinea fowl.

That's awesome.
I had chickens but my neighbors complained and the city came and said I couldn't have chickens. So we had soup instead.
Chicken soup?
