Soviets were relentless but they weren't stupid.
Soviet tactics sucked in WWII because Stalin killed all the generals. He even gave orders to shoot anybody retreating. Basicaly in some fights Soviets were in crossfire.
Great post.
You Spelt "fatigue" wrong.

Good thread, Good read. But where was the info about US, Russian and British Empire forces??
The French didn't fight in world war 2 they just surrendered.
If you read the actual history you will see that they did fight, they fought pretty damn hard, they were just mowed down by the krautes.
I'm just somewhat rusty on gear and uniform.
Well I know one interesting fact about the German SS uniforms. they were designed and manufactured by "Ben Sherman". most teenagers in shell suits wear ben sherman stuff. Don't forget the chavs...

For one Ben Sherman is a British company.
and two it was founded n 1963.

At least some of the antitank dogs where some huge failures though. The dogs where trained by having their food under THEIR tanks, so when they where released in battle, they recognized the sound of the russian tanks, and ran under them, so their own tanks blew up...
I think the recoilless horse was a better choice for antitank weapons

Well I know that one of the Chav clothing lines is responsible for the kraute officer uniforms. my dad told me. Might have been "fred perry" :saddowns: I can't remember...

German SS unifroms were designed and made by Hugo Boss. They needed good looking suits for SS and that's what they got.

and they didn't design all the uniforms. Only a few of the early ones.
cept that never happened. but cool story.

what exactly do you mean by this? Get their ammo individually?
The Japs had their (newer) standard rifle the Type 99 Arisaka, but they couldn't get the newer Arisakas out fast enough so some units were still equipped with the older but still okay Type 38 Arisaka. So essentially they had two "standard" rifles since their production output wasn't fast enough.
Both in different calibers which was silly, but they needed the change to 7.7 since it was superior to the priors 6.5 but meh what can you do.
Ever read anything bout the winter war? It wasn't a rare thing to see 4,000 men wiped out wave after wave against maxim gun filled trenches... Sheer brutality. They had to periodically switch the gunners because of mental breakdowns.
You guys realize the French put up one hell of a fight, but when the line buckled they buckled with it. Thos who survived often joined the resistance. Thats a lot less pussy then 3/4 of FP.
Funfact: Several French Generals put up a last stand, armed only with pistols.
Soviets were relentless but they weren't stupid.
They infact were. Or perhaps only Stalin was, when he ordered to do nothing when germany invaded, resulting in a large material and human loss.

They stacked bodies to form walls, and had to dig foxholes through frozen corpses.

it was a tad bit exaggerated and nobody seemed to detect the humor in my post but you know it is partially right
Update OP? I was actually really interested what you had to say about the other infantries of WW2.
