No one realizes that this video is making fun of how tumblr treats people who are transgender, or gay, or have a mental disorder like fucking commodities. I think it's because Tumblr is both a hub and a birthplace for the kinds of people who unironically yell "check your privilege" and "shut up, cis scum", as well as because these kinds of people spill over into other sites and cause annoyance for the 5 minutes it takes them to get banned.

It seems far more prevalent on tumblr, not to mention this only started about 2 years ago on FP. Before that nearly everyone's spelling and grammar were impeccable.

Tumblr: let's make up the term "demisexual" for what anyone else would call "having standards". Also, let's take a thing meant for PTSD sufferers and turn it into a totally useless "i don't like thing".

My main beef with tumblr as a site is how it treats images. "Sorry, you can't use cyan or magenta in your gifs." "Sorry, you can't have an image longer than 100 pixels. We want to save space! Have a long image? Cut it up into a dozen different chunks and then post it! Surely this is the best solution and totally saves space."
Then there's that whole "let's post gifs for no reason instead of just 1 image" thing people do a lot, but that's a tumblr [I]user[/I] thing, not tumblr itself. And there are a whole lot of things wrong with a bunch of tumblr users.

A while back, my sister told me "Hey, so uh, I kinda blew up tumblr." Something along those lines, I don't remember. She showed me some anonymous Homestuck confession/idea/whatev thing, and the one she submitted (or at least told me she submitted, and she's not the type to plagiarize) was basically "I don't think Feferi from Homestuck is that good of a person." It had a hundred times more notes or reblogs or whatever the fuck than anything else on the page. Let me see if I can't get her to find it again tomorrow, that shit was hilarious.

In my experience they're passive-aggressive about it or don't visibly react at all. Then they get home and blog about it, exaggerating a lot or just complaining at length. You would never even know what actually offends them unless you seek out their blogs.

Which is ironic for a lot of them, because the biggest complaint about any social issue they usually blog about is that certain behaviors are widely accepted and that nobody stands up to them. It's as if they believe that blogging about it and reblogging other people's rants is a form of standing up to the issue when the people they wish to change to conform to their worldview will never see their posts at all. Typical slacktivism.
