Honestly watching anything like this happen on Tumblr. is like watching a train crash, it's so horrible but you just can't look away.
this video is somehow the worst and the best at the same time
the fandom stuff and the OMG REBLOG!!! MISSING CHILD BABY!!!! was really spot on but the rest was just eueuueugugeuegeh

i found this in the tag tho.
This video is pretty darn accurate. I used to be an active member back in 2011 and then into 2012. My friends convinced me to join since it was a pretty fun way to communicate with them indirectly and also keep in touch with my followers. So yeah I originally actively used to keep in touch with (surprise surprise) the MLP fandom and the idea that you can post whatever you want seemed pretty cool.
But oh god there is just too much drama there, as if MLP fandom drama wasn't shitty enough. If you as so much voice your opinion on anything, hordes of prepubescent, rabid teen feminists would come trying to bust down your door and take off your head. And sure, drama is gonna happen on the internet, but those people cannot be reasoned with. Even when they are flat out proven to be wrong they will still think that they are in the right.
So yeah, in the middle of last year I quit entirely outside of me posting something once in a while, fuck that site. Nobody wants to be civil or reasonable about anything.
Don't tear my head off about this, but I don't think it's a coincidence that the group of people criticizing the video or defending the site here is nearly entirely composed of those who have an ideological stake in a part of the Tumblr community.

The argument that "those who dislike tumblr have probably never used it" is also pretty stale. I used it for 3 years before finally getting the fuck out. If you don't tumblr savior (basically a tag blacklist web extension) any tag that you don't want to see it's pretty bloody awful.

or you can just not follow blogs that reblog that shit
it's really that simple.

I usually just subscribe to artists and art digests and they're pretty clean of drama.

Pretty sure it was mocking the degradation of serious problems itself
Dunno, I use Tumblr constantly and while all of this is accurate, you have all the tools to block it whenever you want and keep the precious Sherlock/Doctor gifsets
or you can just not follow blogs that reblog that shit

See that was the problem for me. Most of the people I followed were my friends and often did post actually cool stuff. But there's always that point when they start reblogging stupid shit, and I was always hesitant to unfollow. Until now anyways.
I had a tumblr, someone wanted to lick my arse and I was asked if I had a penis, Never going back.
why is it that everyone on tumblr seems to type like this with really long run on sentences and no capitals or punctuation and also why do they never put question marks after questions
Most of the time it just seems as if they're trying to be condescending or edgy, as if to say "I don't care enough about what you said to warrant a reply with any effort whatsoever."
Correct me if I'm wrong on this, however. It's just something I notice frequently on tumblr.
i had no idea what tumburl is proir to watching this video and yet i have alway beens writing like that on fp

I consider myself a feminist and definitely share a lot of opinions with the tumblr community. I also just happen to think that tumblr is a horribly shallow place.

He responded by saying it's the type of website that would hack his account in retaliation for poking fun. :v:
I browse some tumblrs, every time I think about signing up I see a massive blog post trying to point the blame of something on another group of people (90% of the time It's white guys), then a few posts down complaining about stereotyping.
It's by far the most hypocritical site in existence.
You think, "oh, I'm just going to browse to find some pictures of cats", but no, it doesn't work like that, you always get a mix of diarrhea thrown in.
or you can just not follow blogs that reblog that shit

I follow many art-oriented blogs and they often integrate their politics inside of it. They're mostly ineffective since I'm already aware of those issues, not to mention that it's a waste of time to post them on a website that's very LGBTQ+, gender, and race friendly. The CEOs who use discriminatory actions like the glass ceiling aren't going to read those at all.
That said, what tags do you suggest I should block?

What does SRS and SJW mean?
What does SRS and SJW mean?
SJW means Social Justice Warrior but I always forget what SRS means. I think it's Shit Reddit Says but I'm not sure?
What does SRS and SJW mean?
SRS is Shit Reddit Says, sub-reddit used to compile some of the more outlandish comments, almost always sexist or racist, seen on Reddit and mock them, basically a circlejerk for feminists
SJW is the same as Sanius Squad in use, a term idiots try to use disparagingly but only really make themselves look dumber in the process
[editline]26th January 2014[/editline]
In regards to Max he's both a known and kinda prominent SRS poster and one of those dirty SJW's, always checking privileges and decrying racism, the bastard

It's actually very simple, if I want to look for the transexual porn star: Bailey Jay, then I just have to type that into the search box and I'm welcomed with a plethora of delectable images.

You know you done goofed when even youtube commentators are calling them out.
Tumblr has its purposes and there are lots things I do like about it however, it does have some serious problems with its community.... mainly the absolutely disgusting, shameless hypocrisy of so mainly those who think that they are exempt from any sort criticism and can justify any action just because they take up the "Social Justice" label. Funny thing, one of the artists I met through tumblr was telling me how she summed up that "for a community who constantly prides themselves on being so open-minded, inclusive, anti-bullying and everything that is sunshine and rainbows, tumblr has one of the most hostile communities Ive ever seen in my life."

The great thing about tumblr is that you can download extensions to block tags and people so you don't have to see any of that! It's not a traditional forum like Facepunch or Reddit where it's hard to avoid fucking huge morons, it's easy to avoid them! Artist you follow blogs about "stupid social justice" bullshit? Great, don't follow them. Don't like social justice shit? Good thing you can block tags!
There's really no reason to complain about tumblr being a cesspool when you follow blogs that make it into a cesspool. I'm okay with the social justice posts, but not with the horrible aggressive people, so what did I do? I stopped following people who blogged that. Recently some artist I followed on tumblr started to make these horrible misogynistic comics and drawings. It didn't make me feel comfortable, so I stopped following them. And guess what? I haven't seen them since. My blog is saved.
Now all I see is the content I want to see.

you can ignore people on facepunch too. Takes three clicks.
[editline]28th January 2014[/editline]
of course if you want to avoid every huge fucking moron on here you may need a lot more than 3 clicks

yeah, i'm not denying that but it's way different here, tho. facepunch is a forum, not a blog site. on a forum the users get together and make the content, but on tumblr you sit back and let people throw content at you.
if i block you, for example, your posts will still be in this thread and people will still be replying to you. all blocking will do is prevent me from seeing the content of your posts. they're still there. if i was following your car blog or whatever and decided to unfollow you, i probably wouldn't see your posts again unless somebody else i follow reblogs you. there's also extensions to prevent that. that makes it much easier to avoid users.
or if you're like milkandcooki you can just search #inflation or #vore!
tumblr is a miracle site guys
