Did he ever realize how horrible his actions were?
But it has to be a totally different experience then a generation ago when these hurts and humiliation are now witnessed by a far larger, online adolescent audience. I believe my son would have survived these incidents of bullying and humiliation if they took place before computers and the internet.
Because when ever any computer is used by a child a thousand bullies/rapists/paedos instantly contact them and make the sad :downs:
God this is terrible kids who bully need to be put away
It's sad how "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me" is really wrong, no matter what. This, really, combined with the "Just kidding Ryan, you're a loser LOL UR GHEEEEY" probably would have either made me snap and probably kill the bitch or myself.

This isn't something to joke about you fucking idiot.
Get out.
Sticks and stones will break bones, word will drive you to use them.

I don't get suicidal if somebody insults me. Then again, I've never really been picked on since the school I go to everybody just tends to mind their own business. Plus, If somebody decided to bully me I'd just beat the shit out of them.
Not being an internet tough guy, That seems like the most reasonable solution to a bully. Why would they mess with you again if they know you will just kick their ass.
I got bullied at school for being a Jew. Not really that serious.
Though I can also relate to this story because I went through some tough depressing times and almost killed myself through drugs.
When I was in third grade I was bullied like crazy. It is serious crap. I ended up going to a counselor, four different 6 month terms with two different counselors over the course of a few years. Then my parents divorced and that compounded the issues. It really effected me and who I have become. For the better I think. I can deal with stress very well, rarely if ever let out serious emotions, and became really nice to people so that I would never be the cause of hurt for them. People taking their own life is pretty drastic, but I can feel for them. Thankfully I started growing like crazy in grade school to the point that I was physically larger than everyone else so they didn't bother me as much since I could wreck them.
TL;DR don't be an ass
Screw this kid, you don't just pussy out and kill yourself if someone makes fun of you or beats you up, if life pisses you off deal with it asshole

Some people are more mentally and emotionally resistant to being picked on, like you, and me. I never gave a shit. It was more like a game; Anyone who ever posed that sort of 'threat', or whatever, I allied with. Giving them answers to homework or whatnot.
Then again, other people are more sensitive to that type of stuff, and it's a lack of empathy that really causes problems between these two types of people, like this prick:

Thanks bro, for totally proving my point by existing and just generally being a soulless asshole.

Fuck you. You clearly have no idea how traumatizing bullying can be. Especially to someone who is only 13 and still developing emotionally.

People like ForTehWolf should be the ones dying and not the kids who have been victimized their entire lives.

Life's Life

Hmm, call me an asshole but I didn't really see anything worth killing oneself over in that wall of text. I dunno', maybe it's harder for young kids, or modern kids. I remember I got worse payouts when I was younger. I remember that I felt like the most notorious kid in school for being weird. It's probably different nowadays I guess, though.

I hate to say it, but I kinda agree with this guy, the kid should have gotten more help, and his parents should have done more.

Or maybe a half-page article doesn't adequately summarize the situation. When it comes to mental issues, most suffering happens away from others so you never end up with the whole story.

I, too, can make some inane and meaningless statement about life in an attempt to sound insightful like a huge toolbag.

When you're a kid being bulled, 9 times out of 10 help is unavailable.

You continue to prove my point. You lack empathy toward anyone else, now I lack empathy for you. I honestly hope someone beats your ass on a daily basis for the next few years you're in middle school (I can only assume you're still in 7th grade due to your intarnet tuff gui attitude).
God damn why can't people take stuff like a man anymore it pisses's me off, I was bullied and it was physical so you know what I did I punched back taught that kid a lesson.
No, you didn't. You made that story up to create an argument.

Uh did you even read the story
Sure enough, we got a call from the assistant principal after a school day in February 2003. He just broke up a fight between Ryan and the bully at the nearby Maple Street Park in our village. He said Ryan was ok but wanted us to be aware. We were very grateful for his intervention. When we found Ryan walking home, he was both scared and elated. He was shaking but said he got a few good punches in and felt good he was able to stick up to the bully. He said,
“I got a few good punches in before Mr. Emory got there. That kid probably won’t mess with me anymore.”
We were all feeling pretty relieved that day for Ryan; for being able to stand his ground and seemingly make it through a typical teenage rite of passage.
