This is gonna be gud. IIRC last time there was, like, hella porn custom forums. I remember there being a silly furry forum and anti-fur forum. A bunch of art and political ones. pretty sure there was a fucking bestiality group too.
The admins ended up moderating the custom forums back then anyways, even with the admins of the groups being normal forum users.

What's a good way to drop a hint to someone that your kind of uncomfortable with how they approach your sexuality? I have a friend who keeps chest banging about how straight he is while also making weird "banter" passes at me and I don't wanna tackle him about it head on cause he's kind of shit at this sort of thing and I don't want to hurt his feelings when he isn't doing it on purpose.

AFAIK Facepunch moderator Seiteki is LGBT. If you want to avoid drama and power tripping there couldn't be a better choice than to request that he/she start the board for it.
I would prefer original FP admins not be the Gay subforum admins. I'm nervous of powertrips since after the change rules will tend to be more relaxed, but FP admins will still try to enforce original rules that the subforums may not require.
I'm still in favor of Xieneus if he's up for it, since he demonstrated sensibility in the steam group for this thread, meeting that balance between kicking toxic fuckers and keeping order.

I agree that a whole board would be better suited as a variety board of both minorities and niche interests, for the sake of having more than two lonely threads.
The problem is that a lot of users would be uncomfortable with, for example, a board clearly designed as a space for LGBT chat also branding itself as a space for furry topics.
If you're going to go down that road you need to be willing to fully dedicate to it, which would mean removing users who disagree with mixing the two if they are causing drama about it. Elsewise you cause worse drama by backtracking on what you want your board to be used for.
The secondary topic to talk about is whether or not adult material would be allowed, which causes further drama if it is allowed in reference to whether or not you care to moderate the return of catgirl/furry porn threads.

Honestly, I would rather avoid anything to do with furries on FP because furries, no matter where, always somehow bring drama with them. There's this group of like 15 people on Telegram who are the rare exception and we already had to migrate from Skype when that app become shit and the old group got filled up with some really weird fucks and drama happened.

in my experience facepunch has more drama in bitching about furries being on fp than furries ever cause on their own
but in any case it is a can of worms
if you want to participate in some community building discussion i would suggest going to the discord and seeing what people have to say, otherwise bitching about the [I]possibility[/I] of people bitching is back-asswards
