I just bailed from the worst get together I have ever been too, have any of you guys ever looked around at all the friends you're with and realized that you don't really like any of them. I need a new fucking social life, any suggestions on how to find new people to hang out with, I've been watching my social life slowly fall apart and now I just want to start again.

I like nerd stuff, so I'll go to weekly meetups at comic/boardgame shops that also have cafes/bars. Coffeeshops usually have people into the arts&music scene, just look for the ones with the most vegan options and free trade signs. There are also weekly meetups events for just about any hobby, just a quick Google away. When I find a new group, I'll give my best smile, ask "can I join you?", sit down, and introduce myself. Firm handshakes are important too, as is dressing nice. Its all about a good first impression.
