I tuned into the opening ceremony about 5 minutes to the end and I don't know if it was just ITV but the sound quality was appalling, it was like a tumble dryer in a cave and made the singer's miming all the more noticeable.

the opening ceremony should have been just Pele on the pitch, then an inflatable version of himself just above his head, which bursts and footballs drop all around him. that's good opening ceremony. this was just Jalo's arse and nothing else of interest. this idea would have saved at least $7 million.

The ceremony was pretty meh. Most of the money probably went to someone's pocket at some point or another and whoever was in charge of the whole thing must've thought "eh no one will care about this anyway, i think this is good enough". Onwards to the game already ffs.

Why was the opening hours away from the game? It's kinda silly, going straight to the game afterwards would be the wiser choice.

This isn't like them doing the national anthems then doing their warm ups this is a huge operation they've got to pull off.
