And where exactly is the double standard then?
Like I said on page 1:
The final scene in the theater is a great parallel, because you see the Nazis watching a movie of Zoller killing Americans, and they are having a great time, laughing as the soldiers get killed. Next thing you know, the basterds break in and start slaughtering the Nazis, and I don't know about you, but I was laughing my ass off during the scene. It shows the double standard most people have, how we can be appalled that they would watch movies of people killing our boys, but the second we're killing theirs everybody cheers.
That is the most common double standard you could possibly think of. Everyone knows of it and it's pretty universal. It isn't intelligent. [editline]17th December 2010[/editline] I'm done. You can all keep thinking this movie was intelligent for all I care. It was brilliantly made, and as Rusty said can be referred to as intelligent in that way, but it provides no real insight or message to the viewer.
I've been wanting to see this movie for a while, but can someone tell me how it was?
I enjoyed it especially the floorboards and bear jew parts
I loved it, thought it was really entertaining. I guess there'll always be people who dislike a film though, best not to let it bother you.

The dialogue and scenes were extremely clever, like the german 3 vs the english 3 sort of thing.
Amazing.
My guess is that the only movie of his they watched was Kill Bill part 1, and just assumed that Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction were actiony bloodbaths without actually sitting down and watching the movie.
I wish Tarantino would make another film like his older ones.
Great movie! That part on the vet...where they are talking about who is the best in Italian, then the italian with the redneck accent haha it cracked me up!
i liked it actually.
I like it, very Tarantio but didn't focus enough on the Bastards for my liking.
That was exactly my criticism but it was still very good.
