Would love to do this but I don't have a camera and it would probably end up being depressing.
hoyl fuck, I mean, wow. I don't even know what to say. Your video summarizes the life I dream of having every night but have no fucking idea where to even start.
I turn 19 in five days. The past year has probably been the best year of my life so far, which isn't saying much because it's only because of the two times this year I forced myself to do something with other people. I learned what an adrenaline rush feels like a few months ago.
But I'm still nowhere near having anything to live for. The very few friends I made (but hanged out with only once or twice all year) all live too far away, and they all have friends to go back to see and hang out with. I don't even have a reason to wake up all summer long :sigh:
At first I saw the thread title, and I expected a shitty thread based around something you just said. Aka the type of thread that comes up every 2 hours at depressingpunch.com
Instead I actually see someone who is having fun with life.
And then I predicted I would see a sea of comments like yours.
I was right.
Do what the op says, go do something. Jesus you people bum me the fuck out. "my life is shit im 19 years old ugh haven't done shit"
[editline]18th May 2011[/editline]
Oh and. good vid op. Enjoy it.
as in "it" i mean life. But you don't need me to tell you that.
This is really cool dude
OP has inspired me, I'm starting this today

Yes, because it's wonderful spending 100% of my time totally alone without a single friend. I don't know why people don't like me, I've never asked them. I guess you need friends to make new friends? Or maybe I really am a fucking moron. I don't know.
But I'll try doing something soon. Going to have to, I can't sit here all summer. It probably won't help with the fact that I have no friends, but at least I'm outside or something. :saddowns:
Don't drown in the pity pool.
You're cute. That video was awesome. :D
Pectus excavatium Nuss procedure..Yeah I was hoping that taking the bar out 3 years after the surgery would cure the pain...Right now I'm doing physical therapy and trying to keep an up attitude about working the pain out etc...It just sucks it caused me to withdraw from society so long and during a very important part of my life.
Looking up Pectus excavatium...
Found.

The fuck?!
Hey man, be nice. Shit. Two of my friends have that, one has a bar in his chest, they're self-conscious about it. Don't be a dick. :colbert:

And OP, you awright. I was planning on doing the same thing next year.
so what exactly are you selling? is it like a drug or something
Very cool! I've been doing the same thing, but with a daily video.
Maybe at the end of each year I'll compile a megavideo.
Keep goin, scotch~
Guys, what you need to realise is that I was in the exact same position as you a year ago. I was bored, discontent with life... I wasn't unhappy but I wouldn't say I was particularly overjoyed.
Then I thought "fuck that"
And started being awesome.
I took out a 2 grand overdraft and blew it on a one month solo trip to Thailand, I went to the worlds biggest animation festival in France where I met my heroes (I'm an animation student), I started playing guitar and done a couple of gigs, I told the girl I liked how I felt (and kinda got shot down but whatever), I got into cycling and went on adventures for the day, I went to more parties, met more people and experienced new things.
All it takes is willpower. Happiness is a state of mind, it's not a target, it's a journey. I wouldn't have done half the stuff I got up to if it wasn't for this approach, and the project really helped me. I started doing more stuff to avoid having a boring picture, who wants to look back in 20 years and see 365 photographs of a computer screen?
Life is for living lads.
it's a pity so many of these kids are stuck in the suburbs doomed to be left behind where there's nothing to do and no-one to know
consider yourself lucky
My life is boring.
My life is boring.
THEN DO SOMETHING
THEN DO SOMETHING
did a couple jumping jacks and screamed at the top my lungs
my landlord called the police on me
Amazing. Keep doing this and post again next year.
I'd do this if i actually had a life to take a picture of.
But amazing vid, i look forward to seeing your next year
Good morning, cheers for all the nice comments guys.
Going back to what I said before... if people are discontent with their lives, little changes make a big difference.
Instead of sitting inside all day, go and walk for a couple of hours in one direction. Take an MP3 player and a camera if you have one. Little things like that really help, it's all about little steps.
I don't know what else to say except "do stuff". The most important thing is to think positively I guess, if you want to be happy but are under the impression you can't be then it's never going to happen. Like I said, it's not a target... it's a journey.
Hobbies are really important, find some sort of creative outlet... it's something I reckon everybody should have.
Thank you Scotchair, because of your video I am now doing this project and a fan of Explosions in the Sky
Looks like you had quite a lot of fun, and whereever you went on holiday looks awesome. I wish i had a decent camera to do this!
I done it all on a camera that cost £160 3-4 years ago... you could probably find it for £50 these days.
I know a couple of folk that are doing it using their phone cameras. The camera shouldn't be a limitation, all it is, is a tool to document.

This is exactly how I feel with life at the moment.
But I'm not like you, so I doubt I'll make the effort to change it. Awesome thread though man, glad you did what you wanted to do.
Got the chills with the picture/music combination.
Had to highlight this.
Wonderful.
That was better than I imagined, this is beautiful stuff. The last line of the credits gave me chills.
That was real pretty, thanks for this.
I'm miserable at the moment, and your video has inspired me to actually do something about it. Thank you.
I wouild try this, but i never have the motivation to see things through :(
There's nothing stopping you except your own laziness, that goes for everybody saying "I would..." or "I wish..."
Man up and go be awesome.
I manned up.
I graduated from college and am going to be moving to a new place within a few months, after I go to Italy that is.
