I only have a PS3, and the last game that I got was Fifa 11, and it runs very smoothly on PSN. No complaints about it, and it's free.
Xbox Live is badassed online. I was at my friend's house joking around on his PS3 I went into the PS3 store page and with no confirmation / security pages I spent over £100 on random Little Big Planet stuff.
Xbox is by far the supreme system to go online with. Direct Facebook, Twitter and myspace capabilities ingame. Online 3d Avatar that can be used in multiplayer games. More secure shopping system. More customisability. ye sure you pay to go online, but face it once you go Xbox Live, you never go back.

PS3 is better in terms of value and community, and Xbox Live is better in terms of functionality.
