Do you think YouTube cares about its users? They don't! Why? Because they get loads of money from Google and doing these layout changes gives them some more hot dollar.
Because there's no other famous video sharing website, nobody really wants to leave YouTube, so users stay and so does the money machine. That means they can do anything to YouTube and they won't get big losses on cash as no one really wanna leave for something more obscure but otherwise better.

Only way to stop it is to go somewhere else, but where to go is the main question, as no other such service has as big community like YouTube, and that means it's harder to get lots of views on other sites. On youtube one video can have 500k views, but on ther services it will be around 50k views. Decreased tenfold, and not much people will look at your work, but you're sure that these people have IQ higher than 100, as no one stupid actually wants an alternative.

I've had YouTube set like this for weeks. I like it better actually, I want to see the newest videos from people I'm subscribed to.
I like it, instead of my Machinama taking all of the space up in the Subscription box, it has their own section. And it shows your latest video.
Google sucks: First with the Channels and the crazy amount of ridiculous ads, then this!
The new layout sucks, can't do anything anymore and the supscription thing is retarded.

Now I have machinima ALL OVER my YouTube and I'm suffocated by 15 minute long commentaries
Youtube had everything together, you could see notifications about new comments, messages, shared videos, subscriptions were all in a single box, leaving space for many more stuff, so I could just go to Youtube, check if anything had changed or was interesting enough for me to click it, then leave
Now I have to click on my profile to check everything manually, AND I'm forced to look at what my friends favorited, like if I give a fuck.
I literally couldn't give a fuck about the homepage.
I do everything through the subscriptions page and that's still the same.
The only thing I had to do was change my youtube bookmark from the front page to subs.
Changing the layout was so pointless.
The new homepage is shit, and why did we have to link our Youtube accounts to our Google accounts.
Oh right, because Google want to know every single thing about us and sell it to advertisers.
It's a nightmare. It's extremely hard to find new videos from subscriptions compared to the old layout. If it aint broke don't fix it.
