This seems like as good a place as any to talk about the movie.
[sp]It bothered me that the film tried to be serious about the message towards the end or whatever, but everything else in it just didn't work with that at all. It was like they realised joking about the reality of such a horrible, bloody situation as a violent revolution just wouldn't be funny so they tried to dance around it, but it ended up just feeling kind of strange.[/sp]
[sp]It was sort of weird now that I think about it. We have a nearly 3 minute joke of Seth Rogan jamming a package up his ass in the first half and then the last 10 or 20 minutes had this incredible sense of seriousness about it compared to the first half. Still tongue in cheek and ridiculous (after all, he did carry a dog the entire time) but it felt more like a typical action movie ending than a comedy.[/sp]
I don't know if that's a bad thing per se. But your right, it had a bit of dissonance to it so I guess it doesn't earn the movie any points since it probably means there was a lack of focus.
