Do you have a service weapon?
If you were really blind in the right eye you wouldn't be posting on facepunch....... I call troll.
How would being half blind stop him?
thanks for serving our country.
Not to sound like an ass, but has the option of an eyepatch ever crossed your mind?
Just out of curiosity how intense is the training both mentally and physically?
I mean more than I say, but, how does training work? Do all recruits go through the same basic curriculum, and some are chosen for more advanced training based on basic training performance or preference? I've been thinking about if I ever joined the armed forces, I would want to be an Engineer or Medic.

You can read up on that here: http://www.goarmy.com/life/basic/index.jsp
It's not that bad. Adv. Basic is pretty tough though.
And yes, I did contemplate a eyepatch but my eye looks relatively normal so why bother.
Holy shit. How does a big one look like then?
Google "camel spider"
I don't have many words to say man. But I respect you more than I've ever respected anyone on the internet.
Mind if I add you on Live?
Respect.

Feel free. It is all kinds of messed up on my new setup so I don't get on a whole lot anymore.
God bless you. Thank you for serving this country
Joshua is the cutest name ever.
So Linelor, do you regret joining the army?
I forgot to ask, did they ever find the sons of bitches who planted the IED?
What do women think of your scars?
Motherfucker missing an eye?
I mean, seriously, that's pretty cool. Not like cool, as in, not being able to see with it. But it's pretty cool not to have 2 eyes.

But hey, I don't think you reply at me but, was it like a really hard hit for you, losing an eye?
I mean, you were close getting your leg amputated so I guess you thank god for that.
I read this thread while listening to "There must be an Angel"
:frown:
You didn't deserve any of it, yet you still manage to keep your cool. God how I envy you.
Have a heart

I really don't know. 2 days later an Apache blew up 2 men planting an IED in the area, could have been the same people but no one knows.
What do women think of your scars?
They're largely burn scars so it doesn't attract the ladies like you would think. I'm married anyway so it doesn't really matter.
So Linelor, do you regret joining the army?
Not really. I was wounded serving my country and I got out of it a lot better off than many do. I don't regret it because it happened. We can't change what happened, but we can learn from it, adapt, and move on.

It was quite a bit of a shock at first because it really fucked with my vision, but once my brain got used to it it wasn't that bad. It didn't bother me so much because I can still see and I'm largely intact other than that.

Hooah to your brother bud.
I forgot to ask, did they ever find the sons of bitches who planted the IED?
They're either splattered about a desert or hiding in a cave somewhere.
Hey Linelor, it's Crater, forgot to tell you this. Remember on ArmA, people kept spelling out stuff with the markers on the map? Good times, but I was the one who spelled out "Paige Dumont's Daddy". Oh man the memories
Linelor, you are a true hero. God bless you, and I hope you have a prosperous life.
My brother-in-law served during Fallujah. From what we've heard from his two tours there it apprently was a nightmare world. He was in an IED explosion too, luckily he had not been hurt but he did lose his best friends too. Later in his time there he was caught by a photographer for Times magazine and is on the cover of an April, 2004 issue. He's in the bottom left of this photo wearing the glasses. He's a really good guy, and has gotten a lot better since when we had first met him. He woke up many nights screaming and asking for help. Other times he would sleep walk and do patrols around his house. He's fine now though, still a little jumpy at loud noises.
