And that spider is a small one by the way.
Holy shit. How does a big one look like then?
Generally we would. It's standard procedure to travel in at least pairs, but we just had to go do a 10 minute job and the road is patrolled all day and we did it later in the day. We just got really unlucky.
Okay, thanks for clearing that up. I can't imagine going through that.
I respect you, a lot.
Wow man. How did you cope, with losing your mates?
I salute you for your brave service sir, thank you for fighting for our country.
Thanks for serving your country. I nominate you for a purple heart
For some reason this got me pumped to join the army.

I signed up for the army after my graduation, I was under weight. : /
Woodland MOP suits in the desert. That actually happened?
That did actually happen. The Marines had a fuckup in their supply shipments and were sent woodland MOPP suits. Not sure about the Army though.

I read the book, haven't seen the show yet though. I'm reading One Bullet Away now, written by Nathaniel Fick (one of the team leaders for 1st Recon).
All hail linelor!
Isn't that a personal question, Monkey pie?
Have you killed anybody before Linelor? you have also said you saw a guy putting his guts back in his tummywummy.
Wow, you're being an incredibly insensitive prick.
Have you killed anybody before Linelor? you have also said you saw a guy putting his guts back in his tummywummy.
Ok that's just not cool.
Have you killed anybody before Linelor? you have also said you saw a guy putting his guts back in his tummywummy.
I don't think you should ask a veteran such question.
Sorry about your eye and mates. That must be some hard shit to deal with. However you're a great person for serving your country.
Ah, so it is a personal question.
Have you killed anybody before Linelor? you have also said you saw a guy putting his guts back in his tummywummy.
If he didn't post it, it's probably not something he wants to talk about. Have some respect.
Have you killed anybody before Linelor? you have also said you saw a guy putting his guts back in his tummywummy.
Dick. Linelor I salute you, thank you for protecting our freedoms.
You deserve a respected member title thing. Not just for this thread but for all of your posts
Maybe this will show some of the unappreciative folks here that our military is actually doing something. My dad served in Vietnam and even I get pissed off a bit when people say it was for nothing. I guess until you've been in that situation, it seems like everything they're doing is wrong to most people.
For the longest time I was basically just a weekend warrior and to tell the truth, I just did the job because it got me through college and it was a pretty easy gig. I never expected to be send to Iraq but in 2004 we were told we would have to go to Iraq, location unspecified, for a 6 month deployment in support of the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment. It was kind of a shock, but I really just kind of accepted it and just started preparing mentally for it as I was a Sargent at the time and I would have to lead people so I didn't want to end up being the fuckup. I hoped that we would just get sent to somewhere away from the action. It didn't happen.
Well to be honest, you had it coming. You join the army, you are a soldier, you serve in the war. I feel kind of sorry for your friends too but after all it was their own decision. But still respect for handling it so good. Now for some questions. How much cash did you get for your lost eye? Also show us the medal that you got for being injured please. And what exactly hit you, a bomb, a rocket?
@Watevaman I completely agree with you. The people that talk trash about our military or are just unsupportive and unappreaciative are uninformed idiots trying to make themselves look smarter than they really are when talking about national defense, current wars/conflicts or just the military in general. I've gotten weird looks from kids at school when I say I want to be a US Marine after I graduate, people who for some reason generalize isolated incidents to the entire military. I've been told by other people that I'll end up killing babies and throwing puppies off cliffs if I enlist, and it's really ignorant and annoying. And thanks to Linelor and every other Soldier, Marine, sailor and airman who served and help keep our country safe.
Have you killed anybody before Linelor? you have also said you saw a guy putting his guts back in his tummywummy.
Stay classy.
I'd like to say thank you and extend my condolences. It's a damn lucky thing they were able to patch your leg together.
That was a really good read. Really sorry about your friends though. Did you guys hit a roadside or something?
