An interesting read.
A friend of mine was deployed to Iraq with the Royal Horse Artillery as a gunner. Had to shoot his GPMG into a group of suspected combatants, killing a few, then his jeep take a hit from an RPG. He was mostly unhurt, but he later found out that 2 was civilians caught up in the crossfire.
I also think Linelor should get Respected Member, if not something much more. This hits deep, because I plan on signing up for the Marine's when I hit 18.
Wow, that must suck, i mean, you've done other missions before but it's the 10 minute drive that gets you.
I never knew you received a purple heart...
You are truly awesome, thank you.
I also think he should get RU.
what the hell? double post -_-
I give you my respect, for being in the armed forces and surviving a blast.
Lots of respect.
Write a movie. It'll probably sell.
How were relations between troops and their superiors?
It's an Iraqnid.
Probably the best pun I've heard in a while.
It's an Iraqnid.
That actually made me lol, nice one.
Thank you man, I'm sorry to hear about your friends. You've got my personal thanks for risking your ass like that. This is going to sound like a stupid fucking question, but was it worth it? You're blind in one eye, your friend lost his arm. That's tragic, horrible, but do you regret serving?
Your picture is indeed a very small camel spider.

I didn't know bugs got that big. Also, great job serving our country, it means a lot.

Jesus, are they marines or Starship Troopers?
Jesus, are they marines or Starship Troopers?
I'd like to know more.
Have you killed anybody before Linelor?
you have also said you saw a guy putting his guts back in his tummywummy.
While I don't think you should have said that, the fact you used the word tummywummy is so adorable.
I don't think you should ask a veteran such question.
Jeez, fine.
Why should you not ask a soldier if he killed someone? Is Facepunch suddenly the defender of good behaviour?
Damn sure he killed someone, not directly but hell he had some actions with tanks n stuff before, he wrote it. So his unit INDEED killed someone. It's a friggin war, Jesus.
Indeed.

Good behavior?
War is not a video game, you are in fact shooting real people, to kill them.
Why don't you go around and ask some Vietnam Veterans how many people they've killed?
Killing someone is not something you want to remember and be proud of, to be honest I think many veterans just want to forget it.

If you join the army, you are expected to kill. It's your job, your carrier.
It's like asking a subway artist how many subways he or she has made. But he or she wont answer because they put animals on bread.
A good read, got my respect.

You do know that these camel spiders are the same size if not a little bigger as the one in the OP, the way the picture is taken makes them appear a lot bigger than they actually are.

How fucking old are you god damn, it's not a damn game.
Do you really think it is that easy to kill someone and then just pretend it never happened?
No, killing is not your job and not your carrier when joining the army, your work isn't to kill people.

I would if I knew any. my Grandfather was 14 when the Nazis forced him to join the army and he got a into russian internment camps shortly after, he told me almost everything about his life there and it was horrible.
I don't see why a Soldier who was very awayre of the fact that he would have to kill people when he moved out can not be asked how many he killed or if any, that's what a war and military boils down to in the end.(not speaking about the help that the military may deliver to the civillians but that's no matter anyway, the US-controlled areas have way less jobs and infrastructure since the war began)

How old are you?, though it's still your job, get over it.

That's why you ODN'T pretend it never happened.
And yes, killing IS your job in the army.
Don't you have any respect at all, also didn't you happen to notice Linelor didn't answer the question and I think I saw many complain about that question.
Sure believe whatever you want, I would love to see some of you go asking some vet "how many they've killed".
I thought it was common knowledge to not ask veterans "how many they have killed" question.

I'm 17.

Not really, I don't have that many veterans around my. My Grandfather served for the Nazis and the Husband of my Grannies sister served on the iron curtain and shot 1 guy in the leg. That's all.
And no, I have no respect. For what?
My only respect goes for how well he handled his wounds.
