Lots of respect for you. I don't support the war at all. But I do support the troops sent to war.
Respect, man. That's all I can really say.
Props to you mate.
And I mean that honestly and respectfully
In the bayonet thread, you mentioned something about you having a knife saved you once or twice. Care to tell us that story? :v:
Sorry overlooked that question.
The time I used my knife was basically where I turned a corner into someone and he freaked and grabbed onto me in a sort of hug/tackle move. I grabbed my knife from my leg and cut his left triceps muscle to the bone which made him let go pretty quick. Come to find out, he was just a collaborator and wasn't armed, though he was trying to kill me in desperation. I wasn't taking any chances however, and I don't care how scared you are, you shouldn't tackle a soldier who is used to people strapping explosives to themselves and blowing up.
If I had had my knife attached as a bayonet and he was I would have had to fight him hand to hand and if he had a weapon like a knife or something he might have won.
There, I actually told it in the bayonet thread, but I think it was overlooked for the most part.

There is no killing involved in this job.

Well combat engineering is much different from engineering.
Combat engineers do everything from repairing and recovering vehicles, to destroying enemy equipment and ordinance with explosives, to breaching (Why we carry shotguns), laying mines, and even just plain frontline combat attached to a infantry unit.
Kind of a very expansive job.
Congratulations, you have thoroughly crushed any chance of me ever wanting to join the army.
You have my deepest respect however. I really appreciate what you do for your country.
I wish I had the balls to do something like that...
You have my respect to the full.
A couple of months back me and my friends from school had to make a thirty minut presentation about war, seen from a soldiers perspective.
Now obviously neither of us at that time fiteen year olds has been in war so we interviewed a danish war veteran.
He had a labtop with alot of war pictures, many taken by himself and others given to him by others.
He had a whole folder of roadside bomb pictures, another with suicide bomb pictures(Lets' not talk about that one, nastu shit) he even had roadside bomb pictures with one going off, and I must say, that's some pretty horrible bombs. Some of the pictures showed how there's fragments piercing every wall within atleas 30 feet, others showing how they can compress a car from being 2 meters long, to 1 meter from the sheer power of the blastwave, or simply leave rip of anything on the body aside of the torso.
It's amazing how someone can be alive after something like that gonig of right by them.
Sorry about your friends though, how did he take missing an arm?

Didn't want to post in this thread again. But if you didn't notice I said, that those were some different job groups in the army. I didn't mention killing in that post.
Stop trying to be a smart ass and shitting up this thread as it's already been done with the previous discussion.
I suggest you PM me as Linelor said, if you want to talk about this.
What happened to John Coble?
Edit: Nevermind, glad to hear he survived. :)
I. Freaking. Love. You.
Those fucking arabs (as in the bad guys in iraq, not every arab people in general) are stupid pussies, thinking they are fighting a holy war or some shit. All they do is plant bombs under roads and think they're the greatest.
I agree with the eyepatch.
You'd be a total badass.
I'd expect you to look younger, from that picture.
Oh and that front HMMWV looks fucking awesome.

He's fine, just lost his arm.
And you're right about the watch.
Wow, sucks about all the dead guys.
My brother got selected to go to Iraq, a base you've probably been too, i'll just say it's the biggest air base in Iraq.
My other brother said they are looking for more people to go to the same place, he might volunteer.
You think there's any chance they will go to the same base?
I know, but we called them spiders and it looks like a spider, and it acts like a spider so in my opinion: It's a spider.
I don't care, Your opinion over mine, Your country owes you a debt and if that means calling something a spider when it isn't so be it.
It's about 40-50 miles north of Baghdad.
Can't remember exactly what he's gonna do there, has something to do with watching Iraqi recruits work or something. I guess he's going to make sure they do their job right...
