Nintendo Switch Off: Defective units and design flaws

Holy shit what is that sci-fi noise?
I guess I'll wait for a console revision or redesign before thinking on buying a Switch.

PS4 Pro, also suffered problems on release.
Edit: I'm glad that I held off from buying one at launch, most likely will wait until these issues have been fixed and when there are more games avalible.
I played with my friend's switch for 5 min and realized the kickstand is way too flimsy. Like cheap iPhone case kickstand kind of flimsy.
Press the same button three times.
Why?
To be fair, this is every console launch in recent memory.
It's not like you can't easily disable that

Good, but why?

CNET was right all along.

While this is true about the Ps4 and Xbone releases, you cannot deny the massive hardware oversight regarding a charging dock without sufficient padding/space for the screen. I do not own a switch, but I recall the feeling the first time my phone got a scratch on the screen as a result of my own stupidity. This, however, is something nobody would expect.
You would think that most of the issues with the Nintendo Switch would have been found during product and quality assurance testings.
Either Nintendo is cutting corners again or they've rushed the product to meet with the release date, possibly both.
Edit: Then again this can be applied to almost any product.
haha get fucked
is this view on dead pixels common? that's scummy as fuck
its very common, i remember we had to try really hard to get my sisters laptop replaced, they say somthing like less than 5 dead pixels is "fine".
Got laptop sent away came back with a different laptop with dead pixels in another spot, so had to send it away again.
I knew there was something fishy about that gray LCD, and sure enough it's plastic; and it scratches. These aren't just defects, there are some bad design flaws here.
Is there any reason why switch games in the UK are fucking £60, that's an absurd price.

From quick observations, they're doing a currency conversion of £1 = $1 USD. Probably too lazy to change the pricing on their stores.
The price for Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is $60 in the USA and in the UK it's £60, from their official online stores anyways.
Welp, this justifies even more to just wait for either a price drop or for the inevitable revision somewhere down the line.
to be fair the one thing that surprised the most was the switch screen not being scratch-resistant.
sure, plastic may be slightly more sturdy, but the other parts of the switch seem way more fragile than a glass screen would, so why?
Not having a scratch resistant screen on a portable touchscreen console designed for children.
Genius!

But hey! At least children won't put the games in their mouth!

...oh

so you want a portable touch screen for children to have a glass panel that shatters on one drop and then poses a cutting hazard?

Yeah, that fact alone was enough to shrivel up my mild desire for a switch into nothing. Come on nintendo, everything has gorilla glass now, shit, my watch has it. Id gladly pay around $500 for a switch with a proper screen, controllers that work, an upscaler in the dock, and a few more decent games.

Oh fucking hell not this shit again
My interest in the switch is becoming less and less, it just seems like Nintendo never learns.
Good, but why?

Why do smartphones have lock screens?
My interest in the switch is becoming less and less, it just seems like Nintendo never learns.
It's not like Microsoft or Sony are completely innocent about their products. These things sadly are reality but get sorted out after a while. I luckily have no problem with my Switch.
so you want a portable touch screen for children to have a glass panel that shatters on one drop and then poses a cutting hazard?
wow

But not everybody thinks this way. You are right about the screen but barely anyone wants to pay even more for it. The Switch already got flak for being so expensive.

Remember, your price tags roll in the tax!
Why do smartphones have lock screens?
Usually a lock screen comes before selecting an app, but I guess this works.
so you want a portable touch screen for children to have a glass panel that shatters on one drop and then poses a cutting hazard?
spoken like someone who has no idea the modern innovations in glass technology
Glad I decided on getting a Switch secondhand instead of day one release This is just sad.
so you want a portable touch screen for children to have a glass panel that shatters on one drop and then poses a cutting hazard?
This doesn't stop parents from buying their 5 year old a fucking iPhone lmao.
It's not hard to not drop something you know. All the ways I've seen people drop their phones or tablets is because they were either doing something really dumb, or they are careless.

Cutting hazard? what?

You can't cut yourself on this.
