don't be around people when you don't feel like it it'll only make you feel worse.
my mom said no because she thought there was some law against it. but if its legal then i dont see any problem with it, like you said all that food is edible, i dont think my family would be against it.
I don't see why it would be illegal, it's trash.
It's against store policy for the workers to leave stuff on the back step though.
But given the volume and quality of food I've seen go out the back door, a family of 40 could eat like kings.
I'm talking sausages, whole roasted chickens, slightly dented cans, day old dairy (still good for at least a week), day old bread (likely still good if the bag is sealed, if not just toast it and it's fine), etc

I'm a big fan of Crysis and making videogames is something I've always wanted to do but never really took the initiative to learn the skills involved. For weeks after downloading it I would open it up and tell myself "I'm gonna make something cool today", only to stare at my empty map for a bit, click some things without knowing what they did (which in most cases would either make a mess or crash the editor), then give up and close the editor to go browse 4chan or something. Hell, it took me at least 3 days of fruitlessly trying to create a floating platform in the empty void before I even realised you actually had to click File -> New to get something to work with instead of a black screen.
But I kept at it. I opened the editor every single day and tried different things. I pored over the documentation for hours, watched tutorial videos on youtube, asked questions on the dev forums...hell, I was so proud when I first managed to create a jagged, untextured mess of empty landscape, because it was the first time I made something that sort of worked.
And now, a few months later, I'm making a hotel on a giant tropical island...

You just gotta keep at it, even if it seems like nothing is happening at first, even if it takes you a month to figure out how to use those damned layers. Oh yeah, and be ready to do a whole lot of reading.
Before you know it you'll find that you've gone from just barely figuring out how to haphazardly paste Elijah Wood's head onto Shrek's body, to making convincing photo mashups and creating textures for Source games with working alpha channels and normal maps. And by then, maybe you'll find someone who needs some editing or texture work done and is willing to fork out some dosh for your trouble

Apparently its pretty legal. It might be considered trespassing but usually the private owners have to press charges for it and I don't see many businesses pressing charges for someone who is hungry taking food from a dumpster.

That's awesome dude. Although I don't have interest in making maps that looks like it's incredibly rewarding.
I worked as a corrections officer and dealt with many types of people. Kids all the way to elderly folk, I've seen a wide verity of crimes and cases. I've sat in on reading rights and been a part of the "process." I met some people are truly don't care about what they did and openly admit they would do it again, hell i met a dude that tried to kill a fellow guard and laughed about it. I've also met people who fucked up big time and really knew they did and wanted to make it right. I had a full grown man break down and cry in front of me.
One thing that everyone has in common is the choices we make. All of our choices have consequences, some sooner then others. In the end we get what is coming. The only person you can blame for all this is yourself (not saying you're not taking responsibility), but now it is your responsibility to change your life. You made the choice to stab someone and you paid for it, not a lot of people in your situation get to leave jail as early as you did for such an offense.
I don't think your life is in shambles, it might seem that way but i honestly believe if you can get your mental condition taken care of you will be on the right track. You might be classed as a "felon" but don't give in or play in to the whole stereotype as a felon. You're going to have to earn societies trust back but if you're truly as sorry as you say you are then you will not have a problem earning that trust. As i said, just do what is right. Make a plan, stick to it, don't divert from it. So many people have a criminal history, you would be surprised. A lot of them changed for the better, the ones that didn't change are still in the system and will continue to get locked up. I met a person the other day that is a pretty cool guy, we talked and he asked what I do or used to do. I told them and he explained to me he spend a few years in prison himself. I asked him what for, it was a felony charge, big charge too. He served his time and now is a productive member of society.
Things will get back together in time, find a job any job and thing will get easier. I don't know how it works, but in 5-7 years you may be able to get that felony removed from your record if you don't get any other charges or get in trouble. You can always try and to petition the removal of that felony, though I think you have to be completely done with probation and all that. I don't know all the technical on it, I'm not a lawyer.

Are you kidding me. You're going to tell me that you ate the last of the tuna, and you're parents (or you) are dishing out cash for Hulu, AND netflix? With the expense of eating? Most people can't even do these things. Consider yourself lucky. You've made the decision to attempt to stab somebody. You live by your choices, and now the consequences are at hand. Whether or not you're bipolar isn't going to change society around you.
i'd rather watch hulu and netflix than eat.
plus they aren't particularly luxurious things that's kind of like saying "oh how can you be poor when you have a dishwasher?"

in reality i told my parents i would rather have better healthier meals than internet or tv but they said "well we like netflix and stuff and its really only worth a few meals so it isnt that big of a deal". i can agree its not that huge of a deal but if i had my way i would spend the money differently.

I dunno, if hes having trouble scraping out food. Maybe he can make some budget cuts. Maybe cut something out like Netflix and hulu. I don't know, but if I were you. I'd rather eat than watch movies.

It was at the Art Institute of Seattle. The Audio Production program which teaches you how to produce, record, and edit audio.
From a year there I pretty much know now how to operate a common studio and quite a bit about microphones and stuff. I thought about creating a project studio and charging people to use it but there isn't a lot of demand and the start up costs would be well over $1000 just for equipment(not including acoustic treatment or software).

Damn, looks like you're in a bit of a tough situation with what classes you were taking. If my advice is worth anything. I'd say you should try to take up welding right now. Might not fit in your area of expertise. But I heard its a solid job. I've got a friend who dropped out of highschool and got his GED. Hes currently training at the moment.

I want to go to the community college and see how I like engineering since it pays the bills and is incredibly secure.
However time at school is time not working. I'm signed up now but if I get a job I need to cut way down on school so I can start paying my debts and find my own place.

You just wanted an excuse to post that didn't you...
Well yawm, sorry you were wronged by legal paperwork you didn't deserve. One thing I can think of is apply for a job at a grocery distribution center for Kroger/Albertson's etc. They've been known to hire felons charged with serious stuff like armed robbery!
Keep your chin up, you'll find something to keep you smiling!
community colleges around the united states are starting to become crushed down and other UC's are becoming tight as well.
my medical education might go very soon on hold which is gonna suck balls :(
Community college has to take you though I thought. Hopefully Olympic College keeps truckin' along.

If you're looking to go to a community college then its your choice, engineering is fairly secure. But if you do take up engineering. Work for a company like T-Mobile (They aren't doing so well right now) or some other phone company. Or you can work at some sub departments running fiber optic cables through ceilings.

What really sparked my interest was Biomedical Engineering. Considering my struggle with mental problems it seems apt for me to go into that field to help with other people's suffering.
From what I read the best solution for your problem is simply to get a source of income. I would just go literally everywhere and ask to apply, even if you think you're not qualified. Ask your friends if they can reference you to a job or something. I feel that once you get a source of income you'll be much better by helping to support your parents and paying your loans etc.

From taking medical courses I'd say that if Biomedical engineering is anything like what I'm doing. I'd say that it would be difficult (Not quite sure if it'd be AS difficult as MCAT). I honestly have no idea what profession biomed would lead to.

I disagree with the charge though, if a serious, trained fighter had me pinned to the floor in a way where I could possibly be choked to death or beaten into severe brain damage, and using my knife is the only way out of that possibly life-threatening situation, then I'm going to use the knife. If my "choice" is stabbing someone in self defense or risking my life up the mercy of a violent drunk committing a vicious criminal assault against me, then I would have made the same "choice".
As I said before there's a possibility OP could have left out some details but if everything went according to his description I still feel the OP is justified in what he did...self defense.

Biomed leads to pharamceuticals, medical devices, genetic engineering. It's very closely related to medicine.

The only thing I can't really pinpoint is that when you've taking martial arts for a certain period. You have to be registered as a human weapon.
